Thank you so much! I don’t have a lot of time to finish this costume and had no knowledge of how to sew pants, but now I’m fairly confident I can get it done on time! My son is being Shippo from Inuyasha in our family costumes this year!

I used this method a few years ago for regular harems pants and I love theeeeem.... A little trick if making everyday pants in cotton... Wash and tumble dry the fabric before cutting and sewing. That way it had shrinking and then they can be tumble dried.

What kind of cotton did you use? I have 100% cotton but I made a skirt with it and it's very heavy and kindof stiff

Hi, I realise that your tip about elastic position (putting it in the fabric) is very useful ! I've made a dress for belly dance before, I've got a lot of problem with elastic. Thanks a lot ! I'm a french beginner in making clothes, and your videos are very useful !

Thanks! If you use the whole width of the fabric, these are pretty wide pants that fit many.

You can also tie a ribbon, thread or cord to the safety pin, and pull this thread all the way through to make it easier.

How would I modify these to get a dropped crotch version (Aladdin style)
@sparklybelly9 жыл бұрын
qochemist You could try making the crotch section longer or even no crotch at all depending on how deep you want the crotch section to be. But if I were to try making dropped crotch harem pants, I would make front and back panels (as opposed to right leg & left leg panels) like ones in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/lYjFh4akZdxrqMk :)

Could you put pockets on this pattern and if so how?
@sparklybelly9 жыл бұрын
Sam Kanipe Ah! If you want to put pockets, you'd have to make the harem pants from 4 panels instead of 2 panels, so you have side seams where you can insert pockets. I have another harem pants video where I use 4 panels. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qHmknGyro8hqaNU All you have to do is when you sew the side seams together, sew in pockets :)

These are not harem pants they are parachute pants but it's a wonderful diy
@bukimeisu9 жыл бұрын
there's an easier pattern. just have two lengths of fabric long enough to be the legs plus seam allowance. cut a U shape for the inseam, sew them together for the crotch and then make casing for ribbon or elastic. you can hem the sides and leave it open for slitted pants or you can close them up for full coverage. cdn.instructables.com/F2I/J76D/GBB7G7AZ/F2IJ76DGBB7G7AZ.LARGE.jpg
