@@hike8932 Thank you, United Studios of Self defense had two tournaments per year and this was the instructors division at one of those tournaments. USSD is no longer in business so I have two of my own karate studios in southern California.

@@John-ob7dh Yet another reason why MMA and grappling arts have taken over. All that flashy hopping around it’s just a waste of energy and showmanship, but very ineffective in a real fight. What I hate the most about point karate is the delays in between the action. Too much rest time for each side, which is why they never get to develop the stamina that you see in MMA and grappling. Just let them spar until the end and then judge one time.

This was a USSD black belt instructors tournament so it was real.

I free styled for 8 years .I often landed on target. If the guy could not block it or get outta the way then WTF. I got hit many times about 3 fractures , busted nose. Dislocated arm .It all healed up and no complaints .if you dish it out , you take it back .
