Although I must admit that Liam did a great job of taking over the role of Spartacus, if Andy didn’t pass away due to cancer, the series would have even been more successful with the original Spartacus actor. To this day I see Andy as Spartacus the Champion of Capua, whilst I see Liam as Spartacus the Rebel Leader.

In the prequel story of theokoles you see oenomaus was spared cause melitta cried out for him and theokoles kicked the sword at him to continue so he could remain alive. He could've killed him but showed mercy cause he himself lost a woman he loved and new the pain of losing a loved one. Don't know if that is canon tho

Theokoles was a free man but since he was a beast that knew only to kill, I doubt he'd have joined any cause.It's also assumed he had no principles and if he got himself killed fighting romans, where would be the glory in that? The profit? The lust for the next fight? But if, say, he were to have joined, on the promise of bloodshed and building his legend, he wouldn't have been a freedom fighter in the army, he would have been the monster Spartacus had in tow, to be unleashed onto a battlefield to the detriment of any poor soul unfortunate enough to get in his way.

As an avid TV watcher and critic, the Spartacus series from 2010-2013 is the greatest and most underrated series in TV history. Although many would consider the series "over the top," it had the best character development of all-time. You can have an exceptional storyline and writing, but it doesn't work without a great cast. If Spartacus were a U.S. series instead of New Zealand, it would have been as well received as Game of Thrones. I envy those of you who have never watched this and can binge watch all 4 seasons.

The first time I ever watched this episode about 8 years ago, I initially thought he yelled something like a magic incantation in some ancient language, when it was in fact "CAPUA, SHALL I BEGIN?!?", that's how in awe I was of this giant lol... Seen this back in 2010. I was just 13 years old and my testosterone was pumping watching spartacus blood and sand. A true masterpiece! Once I learned Andy was fighting cancer the entire time and would not be able to continue acting the role of Spartacus I failed to bring myself to watch the rest of the show. Blood and Sand remains a part of my memories and Andy forever the face of Thracian hero - Spartacus.
