One of the BEST videos of the Series I have ever seen! It catches a LOT of section-specific moves that I have never seen before! Awesome job Bob!

Major thanks to the parent / so / friend who followed this marching lineup through the whole Series and path. This is not easy (been there, done that with a daughter in the Drum Line multiple years). The sheer display of spirit, dedication, and perfectionism of this band's culture is an amazing thing to behold in person, and year after year, and game after game. Jon Weber is a force of nature, and a terrific leader for these young people. I'll always feel lucky to have been included as an MSU Marching Band parent. Go Green !!!

This band is still impressive. I see that women are allowed to be members of the band. In the late 50’s I performed as a dancer at a Michigan State-Michigan game at Ann Arbor and remember that special permission had to be granted for a female to be on the field while the band was performing. There was a rendition of the song Flamingo and the band had a difficult time with choreography so I , being a dance major ,was asked to participate. Leonard Falcon and Oscar Stover were then in charge at that time. I considered it a great honor to perform with such an extraordinary group.

Love that opening cadence. Back in the 70's, our high school (Manor HS, Portsmouth, VA) band director (the legendary Mr Emory Fears) spent his early years at Michigan State getting his MS degree in music. He got us all to love the Michigan State band and he got a recording (old 45) of this cadence. It took our drumline several weeks to learn it, as it is quite an intricate cadence going from 4/4 time to 5/4 time and back to 4/4 time. An awesome cadence that we named "Michigan State". Other local schools would hear us play in at games and in parades and would try to emulate the cadence, but could just never get the time changes. We played that cademce for years. Well done MS marching band! Still looking good even today. 😊

I live in South Bend and the Band of the Fighting Irish is my number one favorite band. However, the Marching Spartans rock! Go State!

I’m a U of M fan and support blue and yellow so much. However, I cannot be convinced that State doesn’t have one of the best bands in the country and it’s one of the reasons I’m considering going to MSU. Keep doing what you’re doing.
