If those throwing knifes could pass through Sylvia, why did she need rescuing? She could have beaten that dojo by herself!

I remember as a kid, I played a fan made version of this game where you'd fight against NES characters as bosses (like MegaMan). The jump kick would decapitate enemies

This is a certified *JACKIE CHAN* game classic. Spartan X is the JPnese name of Wheels on Meals and Irem got the rights to use it. Shame, that the in the west, the results is different.

Kung-Fu was when it was ported to the NES. "Kung Fu Master" was how I first saw it in the US.

The original japanese version is Spartan X. The US arcade version is Kung Fu Master. However, the NES version is called simply Kung Fu. TRIVIA: there's a prototype for a sequel but, apparently, Irem opted to focus on Vigilante and scrapped Kung Fu Master 2 but the board surfaced some years ago. There's even a gameplay on yt, altough the game is incomplete.

@@persona83 It's just *original* version. It doesn't matter in which country the game originated. "Original Japanese" is redundant, too. "Spartan X" is the original title of the game. The OP here seems to be unfamiliar with the term "localization" and the fact that most video games are not actually made in the United States.

There was a "time attack" video for this game I saw a few months ago. I told the game player afterwards: 1) Keep moving ahead! His backtracking to rack up points ended up costing him a life when his time ran out. Since he only had three to start and ONLY ONE extra man available to win, he couldn't afford to waste time and lose a man that way. 2) Don't get touched! You then have to shake off the enemies as they drain your life, and his letting them do so cost him again. Since this was an early beat-'em-up, you could only heal at the end of the level But I tried to encourage him.

Let people play the game how they want to, you're sounding like those people that loves backseating that demands people to play it your way because it's right & their own way is wrong
