So about multiple people being bloodbent at once, here's my personal guess- you can see with Hama's original bloodbending, it's very jerky and unrefined, I suspect her control comes from genuinely just using people like water bags, bending all the water in their veins to control them. However, I assume with a deeper understanding of anatomy, you could do massive damage with minimal effort, like pinching off arteries and blood vessels connected to important points like the spine or brain- we know that in real life people can be paralyzed due to brain damage, so I bet Yakone was able to knock out/paralyze people just by pinching the right blood vessels.

FYI, Korra takes place 70 years after the events in ATLA. That makes Katara roughly 85-86 years old. Remember, Guru Pathik was, I believe, 130, Bumi was 112, and Avatar Kyoshi lived to be 240! It is theorized that while being frozen in ice for 100 years did slow Aang's aging process, it also did take its toll on his lifespan, so he died at a somewhat young relative age, around 75 (or 175 including ice time). Korra is 17, so 70-17=53, 53+12=75.

It's a shock to your system being bloodbent, it's very painful and frankly terrifying especially someone as powerful as Yacome 2.) At this point Aang hadn't been dealing with anyone on or above the Firelords level in a long time. He's been dealing with setting up city government infrastructure and low level criminals at best although Toph mainly dealt with those. 3.) We've learned from the creators that Aang died of old age but only being 66 yrs old but it was the adverse effects of being frozen for 100 years. His body aged faster therefore even though he was the number age of 40 he's body age was much older likely 60 yrs or so.

There are 3 animated movies being made, the live action Netflix show, and a new Avatar series for the avatar after Korra. Such a good time to be an Avatar fan.

I don't think the sub-bending disciplines are neccessarily harder its just that in the previous series they were just relatively unknown. Toph discovered metal bending during the series and lightning bending as pretty much only known by the Royal Family. S in the last 70 years those disciplines spread. I'm not saying that they aren't harder its just that wasn't the reason they were so rare.

Since they already watched Season 2 on patreon. Not a spoiler anymore. But notice how the ice shards at 19:50 miss Amon. Just like the fire and lightning during his demonstration in the first few episodes when he kidnapped the gangsters. He slightly bloodbends the movements of others to make them miss.

I red that Aang doesn't talk directly with Korra because he didn't want to influence her personality or her actions, just like Roku did with Aang before. That's why Aang decide to show her the facts and Korra takes her own conclusions.

I hate how they put katara aside the whole time. I believe she was never part of a flashback like the rest of the gang. And I find it a bit dumb to face blood benders without her. She mastered bloodbending in less than 5 minutes and was immune to the creator's blood bending. She should have faced off Yakon like in that scene where everyone is out and aang was being folded like napking it would have been so epic to see her come to the rescue, like her holding Yakon while aang removes his bending.
@artistfloor9 Жыл бұрын
I agree it would’ve been cool to see adult Katara and Aang working together. However, Katara didn’t live in the city. She was all the way back in the Southern Water Tribe. Even flying on Appa, it would’ve taken a while to get her and bring her back. I guess you could argue Toph still should’ve waited before arresting Yakone, but she seemed pretty confident and they probably really wanted to get him off the streets. I don’t think she knew it was possible for him to bloodbend so many people at once, and maybe she didn’t fully believe he could actually do it during the daytime.
@suddenimpulse030 Жыл бұрын
She did not master bloodbending ?, and Yakone and Amon were both far better blood benders than Katara ever was. She hated blood bending. She is also like 85 and says herself that its time for the new generation to take over.
@ChangDaBang Жыл бұрын
Katara was no match for either Yakone Amon or even Tarlock when it came to blood bending She was the best healer in the world and couldn't even undo amon's work Also she needed the full moon to access that ability..

Yakone being much better at blood bending compared to Hama also makes sense since he'd have had more practice with it. Since Hama could only bend on a full moon she'd have very little time comparatively

70 years has passed since Avatar Aang since the ending of the original series. By the way, in the original ATLA, Aang wasn’t able to break Hama’s blood bending. To be fair, his chakra was blocking his chi at that time so he couldn’t go into the Avatar state. The upcoming movie will have the entire Team Avatar including adult Sokka and it is going to be amazing. Katara was likely caring for Bumi, Kya and Tenzin during that time period which is likely why she wasn’t in any of the flashbacks.

@@lilunette9319 I too am excited. I hope she lives long and passes peaceful. Korra was brash and confrontational early on but she matured and it would break my heart if she meets her fate by a villain. She probably would like going out like she came in but it would provoke tear bending.
