The real reason for the wonky 3rd turret position. After analyzing data from the damages that British ships suffered during WW1 the British admiralty had the concern of when a British ship charged the enemy (like the 3 battlecruisers that blew up at Jutland) that enemy shells entering the smokestack opening in the citadel might ricochet their way in the magazine of the 3rd turret. So to mitigate that threat the RN designers swapped the positions of the boiler and engine rooms and the rear turret. Hence the ugly profile of the ship. No thoughts at all was given in the event these ships were ambushed from behind or the fact the ships had to do a tactical retreat..

Duncan is based off the G3 Battlecruiser Project. She would of been armed with 9 3x3 16" guns and would of reached a top speed of 32 knots and would of used the US style all or nothing armour scheme. 4 were ordered by the Washington Naval Treaty put an end to them being built, the design would be revised and become the Nelson-Class Battleship.

Really like this ship. Its actually what the Royal Navy would have built, if not for the Washington naval treaty. The Nelson is essentially a drastically cut-down version of this thing

I served on A real HMS Duncan F80. 1300 tons a/s Frigate. Main armament 2 40mm Bofers and 6 a/s mortars. She would roll an a mill pond

Rushed one in a Georgia and he was one of the last players basically already dead Right before I got the last salvo in he dropped one torpedo and I didn't even attempt to avoid it bc I'm think ah it's just one torpedo Boy oh boy was I glad I had like 50k left

Very nice game Spartan! The only thing Duncan is bad at is the fact that it is literally the ugliest ship ever made. And now I can’t wait for St. Vincent with 60%+ fire chance, something like 40kts speed with engine boost, and a whole bunch of other dumb stuff

@@SpartanElite43 there is that, but like all perks for battleships its a trade you lose speed with gyrating drill bits which was a battle cruisers defense people underestimate the lead 🤷🏼‍♂️

Believe it or not, but Duncan's HE is underutilized, which makes zero sense at all. Considering Duncan enjoys 70 mm of pen from its HE and has a 47% fire chance. Yes, the AP is alright, but that HE is on a level with Conqueror's HE. Try using it more often. You won't be let down.
