I haven't read Spawn issues in 25 years. I dig these layouts. Some page sequences are almost more like a storybook than a comic, which is interesting.

I still have my #1 copy somewhere and a couple of McFarlane toys that I had as a kid. The guy has been a huge influence on millions of kids around the world, it's hard to fully grasp the idea.

Those double page spreads from issues 3 and 4 are some of the most exciting pages of comics I’ve ever seen. Like the guys say Todd is really good at doing large scale with his style. I enjoy all the Greg Capullo stuff later on and while Greg might have some fundamentals over Todd he never could do that three dimensional feeling large scale art. Not that he tried. That’s the thing I missed most when Todd stopped drawing the book.

I've been a SPAWN fan from day one and I still buy it monthly. I don't have the Vault Edition. Too much money for my budget. Thanks for sharing this. These pages look great!

recently bought and finished vols. 1 & 2 of the "origins" tpbs. they're fantastic. some of the issues falter with the writing, but most - surprisingly - hold up.

Spawn was a really fun, bold book. Its truly an art-driven work, the writing was fine (enjoy the story for the first several issues) but the artwork sold the book. I'm more into writing than cartooning. I admit cartooning works better as a selling point for comics. Art that snatches your attention will cause an impulse buy.

There is a video of Todd signing the first pages of all this books - but he mentions he will also draw an original sketch on 6-10 of those... So all of these should be signed, but a few should will get extra lucky
