many of the "countries" in that game you never heard of are just oversees territories or independence movements because the game doesn't combine them with their real world overlord, like for example Britain and British Malaya or the USA and Cree

okay i play this game a lot and i can give a couple of tips: this is a sandbox game and unrealistic, a small place like rhode island could be as strong as france and second the editor is all the fun please learn how to use it and create custom scenarios for example i made a world where the new world was more advanced thatn the old world. tl:dr learn how to make custom scenarios and an opm(one provence minor) can beat a pretty strong nation. also the real leader board appears when you click the number that is on the countries flag

defenders have a small defense bonus so if the defender has 25 soldier and the attacker 50 the attacker has lost more than 25 soldiers this goes to a large scale and fortresses and towers ad more defence to the till its one edit: the leader bord isnt the size leader bord but if you clikont the nummber next to a nation that is the leader bord
