If you have a large external hard drive, be careful with rest mode. If the external powers down during rest mode, it could corrupt your library on it. So far my drive has always worked after the repair process but it gets annoying having to wait for the repair to complete on every wakeup. If your external drive does not power down while in standby, you should be ok using rest mode.

Would you recommend staying clear of rest mode, we have a 1 t external. We use for the ps4. Just got ps5 today so not set up yet

@bryden72 So far, my 8tb drive has always recovered from a "data repair". From what I can tell, my drive goes asleep when I use rest mode. Once I turn the PS5 back on, it cannot see my drive and thinks it is corrupted when it is not. Now I have the launch PS5 and it does not allow the USB ports to remain alive during rest mode for charging. The slim PS5 has a working toggle in settings to allow the USB to stay awake for charging (could be wrong, but it only stays on for the length of charging a dead controller). But I would still recommend to do a full shut down and not rest mode. If the HDD is running 24/7, it could shorten the life span of the drive. Server rated drives are rated for more hours of run time, but some server or NAS systems still put them in very low power or even turn them off while not in use. They can usually power up faster than conventional hard drives and can be accessed sooner than conventional hard drives. But the PS5 has no such feature to wait for the hard drive and needs it immediately as it wakes up from sleep. Poor design in my opinion.

The voice command is only available in a few regions and languages. If you are set to UK or NA regions, then I don't know why you don't have the voice command option...

@nova4115 I've had my PS4 since launch and it's now a jet engine every time I turn it on 😅 I opted to go for the Pro as at least then I know that's gonna be me sorted for the next 10 years or so (I hope). I've heard the phrase 'Future proofing' thrown around, so that may be it? @spawnpoiint THANK YOU!!! The one tip on two controllers at the same time is a godsend!!! It works for fightsticks as well. It has been a pain switching from controller to fight stick while playing the RPG style story mode in Street Fighter 6. You have to use a controller for 3rd person in story mode but then you can get into a 2d 1v1 fight. This tip makes it seamlessly to switch between both devices.

PLEASE don't leave your PS5 on rest mode. If you have a power outage or someone unplugs while it is in rest mode, it will corrupt the PS5. You will lose all downloads. But most importantly, if you don't have PS Plus, your saves will be gone FOREVER. Don't leave it in rest mode. I learned this twice. The hard way 😅

The mute button on the controller is actually so good... i had to use my ps4 for a few days and muting my mic through the settings was so much worse because i unmute and mute quite a fair bit during a game

The only place I use the "save to favorites" feature is on physical game sites. Using the "save to favorites" on the PS5 store, it is only for digital which I rarely ever buy unless no physical is available. I'm 400+ physical PS5 games and counting.
