At least that's the way i saw it as to why he became way more reluctant to run from a fight even when he was clearly outmatched.

I feel like that's one of, if not THE, most important aspects of this fight that everyone overlooks. At this point in the series, the threats are at a universal scale. Kami, King Yemma, and even the Kais are so far in the rear-view mirror you can't even *see them* anymore. The Supreme Kais - overseers of the entire Universe - are the only deities that are on a comparable level to Buu, and even they're absolutely POWERLESS against him. He's practically an eldritch abomination as drawn by Akira Toriyama: Formless, powerful enough to tear apart the fabric of spacetime, unknowable in thought and personality, and seemingly indestructible. Hell, Goku and Vegeta are fighting him on the Supreme Kai planet because it's the only place in Universe 7 they *can* fight on without their residual attacks tearing the place to pieces. Buu blew up the Earth without even trying. Remember how much of a big deal Frieza's planet-slicing beam on Namek was? Even he had to charge it for a bit first. Buu just shows up out of nowhere, holds up his hand, and POP. Earth is fucking *gone.* Buu pops planets like balloons, can cross the boundaries between life and death and Heaven and Hell on a whim, and kills literal Gods - with a capital G - for fun. And yet, Vegeta's willpower gives him pause. While nearly the entire Universe 7 Pantheon fell to him in the span of minutes, this mortal stands against him. He's battered, bleeding, caked in sweat and rubble, is so low on energy that he can barely fly or go Super Saiyan anymore, and *shaking* from the strain and the agony of keeping his broken body moving. And he just ATE a planet-shattering shotgun blast of Ki seconds earlier. He should be dead. The Kais were dead by now. *Dai Kaio* was dead by now. Vegeta should be a red smear at the bottom of that crater. But he's not. He got back up. He climbed out of the crater. And he was shit-talking Buu like he was controlling the fight *the entire time.* Anybody else in the series would be (and, as we see with Goku and the Kais, genuinely WAS) absolutely stunned. To Buu, who's about as smart as an oak tree, this isn't just unlikely - this shouldn't be POSSIBLE. Does not compute. This is probably the first time Kid Buu has ever felt real fear, because he - the eldritch abomination - *cannot comprehend how Vegeta is alive.*

I don't think he was actually ego-driven during this fight though. He was just using his ego as a shell, a way to push himself further but his ulterior motive was to help Goku and save the universe. He knows he can't beat Buu, and I bet he even thought that monster could have killed him right there if he wanted. Yet he comes back and talks shit so that he can distract Buu.

what I love about Vegeta, is the fact that he knows he was meant to rule the planet, and takes great pride in that. But what really drives him, especially about what drives him later in the series, is the fact that he realizes that not only does this mean he was robbed his rightful place, but that he carries the history and the pain of his race, and therefore he will not bow to anyone. He IS Vegeta, in all senses of the word/name. (He still is wiling to show respect to those who deserve it though, like with Goku right before this scene)

Something you need to know with this fight , did you noticed vegeta is actually dead ? What happen is Baba (I think it's her name but she was with goku for a bit and you have seen her) have the power to bring you back for maximum 24h and then you go back to the afterlife. BUT , if you died when you dead (ironically it's possible in dragon ball) you basically stop existing with no way back even via dragon balls So yeah , vegeta could disappear from the series of he died there and it's why it make vegeta even more badass.

@Adrian Scott i mean they do get new transformations in each arc in super BoG arc-SSJGod(Goku) RF arc-SSJBlue(Goku,Vegeta) U6 arc-SSJBlueKaioKen(Goku) No new transformations in the goku black arc for goku and vegeta,but trunks has one ToP-SSJBlueEvolution(Vegeta)Ultra Instinct(Goku) They also get stronger by screaming and powering up.in Z they didn't do that alot,you can actually see them struggling and be at their limits

Vegeta is such a cool character, the ultimate redemption story. He was treated pretty shoddily in the latter series by toryama(as was gohan), he should of been given more time to shine and perhaps the one who ends buu. It would of been such a fitting way to end all his hard work and full circle redemption.

This saga was the last one in the original manga. Vegeta's neither the protagonist nor the protagonist's "successor", so there was no way he would've gotten to end a main villian by himself (especially the final villian in the manga). The problem is that since he's such a cool and popular character, a lot of people STILL don't understand at least during Z he wasn't supposed to have such a big role. That was never Toriyama's original intention. The only reason this changed in Super is because of fan-pressure.

So fat buu is called baby. When babies/toddlers act like brats people tend to perceive their pouting and loudness as cute. Compared to babies kids are seen as annoying and obnoxious when they pout, whine, or are just plain loud. Thus kid buu in this clip. It's kind of awesome how they embodied these attributes in this character

I think you should really watch DBZ Kai's Freeza powers up to 100%. It has Goku showing his sadness and anger over Krillins death and it just has real great moments. Hi curtis. There is a clip i recomend you, since It is an emotional very good moment from dragon ball super. Future trunks travelled in time to the past for Goku and vegeta's help to defeat God zamasu and black Goku, Who is zamasu in Goku's body, and after he is defeated trunks' future timeline is absolutely erased. In Trunks' future timeline, everyone was dead instead trunks, Gohan and Bulma, but back in dbz android 17 and 18 killed Gohan, so only trunks and Bulma survived. After zamasu is killed future trunks says goodbye to present timeline Goku and the others, and It is emotive when trunks and Vegeta say goodbye to each other, but there is a great Gohan and trunks goodbye moment when trunks has a flashback with the Gohan he died in the future timeline, it is maybe the best dragon ball super scene, you should watch it

Buu's regeneration is too good plus he can only be killed by the spirit bomb which contains energy designed to purge evil. Based of these facts I'm guessing he could tank hits from vegito if he were still around but I don't see any other way they could have killed buu.

In my opinion Cell was a better villain but Buu, when you think about it, was far more terrifying. He just kills and kills, not thinking about consequences or even just having fun like Cell. He's unpredictable and can even use your own comrades to power up. But Cell had a goal, he decided his purpose was to kill Goku and destroy the Earth, and because of that I find him a better villain but not as scary as Buu.
