Nice to see and hear a side-by-side comparison. I bought an Arianna back in 2002 which I chose as it had a massive sound compared to the other Salvis I tried at the time (Daphne EX, Aurora, Diana, Minerva and Iris) - even compared to the Apollo which was relatively new to the market back then. I took it along for my teacher to try not long after I bought it and she said "I wish my harp (a 1993 L&H Style 23 gold) could do this!" as she liked the strong mid and upper range. I wanted a L&H Salzedo but they weren't readily available in the UK and there was a two year waiting/order list for them, plus the price had gone up considerably - both the Salzedo and Arianna were priced at £17,000 back in 1993, then by 2002 the Arianna was £17,500 and the Salzedo had increased to £23,000. My teacher's Style 23 gold was £25,000 back in 1993. It's interesting to see both the Berlin Phil and Vienna Phil harpists aren't playing Horngachers as they once did and have switched to Salvi and Lyon&Healy harps.

I think , there are not enough enough salvi's in the orchestras. Normally l&h or horngacher. It's sounds completely different

When did Salvi start fitting the extra large soundboards to their concert grands? My Arianna's soundboard was nowhere near as large as those ones (talking overall surface area as opposed to extreme width).

I love the sound of a Salvi harp. Also the pedals are the most smooth and silent and move like butter! I just wish the action had tapered spindles and springs so it would be easier to maintain....
