We used to make your houses in Afghanistan using the same techniques of combining mud with straw. They were always cool in the summer and warm in winter. They had to be renovated once every couple of years, but it was simple enough to do.

That's interesting to hear, thanks for sharing. I'm curious what the renovations involved. Did you add more mud and straw to help keep the form due to weathering?
@ahmadabubaker7347
@ahmadabubaker7347 Жыл бұрын
@@StephenCoorlas the walls would weather due to rain so they had to be reinforced with new mud and straw so the structure would not be compromised. The roof too would be renovated for the same reasons though not as often as the exterior walls, you would imagine it would be the opposite though. The ceilings were always supported with bamboo or other wood called "char tarash"

@@ahmadabubaker7347 I would imagine it to be the opposite, but perhaps the roof material did not degrade as quickly. Very interesting thanks for sharing 🤘

I clicked on when I read the headline "The future of architecture" however, I watched a film about one mans "back to the earth" view of the future. The style he loves is based on a certain farm on Tatooine in Star Wars. The commentary though, is a fascinating echo of the Arts and Crafts movement of the 1880's to the 1920's it is not the future of architecture.

To clarify, not the future of what you may be associating with developer driven commercial architecture. But yes, please look into IAAC and WASP. Even Zaha’s studio is researching material ecology with 3D printing through ETH. Back to earth is the future 🤘🏼

I am searching completely free AI tools since last week. Finally I got a good one named Blue Willow. It's completely free to use. What's your opinion about BW?

I actually just finished a video on BlueWillow, have a look. It’s very similar to Midjourney but with a little less detail

Hi. I found your KZbin channel a couple of days ago and almost watched all of them. I have a lot of common thinking about the future of the construction as well as sustainability and affordability. We are collaborating with other kind minded professionals in design, robotics, material science, computer generative design and development to start a base in Jashua tree in California and exercise the possibilities of future building techniques. Therefore your input would be a value to the team. If you like I would be happy to initiate the conversation with you and introduce you to the team.

Hi Pooya - I'm glad you found these videos insightful. Your Joshua Tree mission sounds like something I would be interested in being part of. Feel free to reach out to me through my About page. Building and designing sustainable structures with robotics is a growing area of interest for me 🤘

Hi Stephen, @StephenCoorlas do you ever use Leonardo Ai for architecture?
@StephenCoorlas
@StephenCoorlas Жыл бұрын
Hey - I have tried it and it's a very good alternative to DALL-E, Midjourney and BlueWillow. There will be a lot of competition moving forward, so the next step is finding programs that integrate advanced features such as controlnet or in/outpainting within the platform and making it as user friendly as possible

@@StephenCoorlas Hey Stephen, Thanks for the response! I am wondering how you make variations of images in AI that target specific points of an image. For example, I render a facade of a building but dont like on part of it but love the rest. How do I target that specific piece I would like to change? I noticed in Leonardo AI there is the canvas feature. Is that what you would suggest?

You know if an architect is a newbie because he/she likes Zaha Hidid style so much which is function follows form. When you grow old and gain wisdom. You will understand function follows form is way of the future. Specially AI is coming. How can you compete? Do you like those suoer cury architecture? Really? Im pretty sure if u build those it will get dated pretty quick. Now compare it to those architecture in Studio Ghibli it never grows old even 100 years from now why is that? Of course form follows function.
@StephenCoorlas
@StephenCoorlas Жыл бұрын
Yes, the new technologies may make the curvy stuff easier to visualize and construct but we need to remain skeptical of the purpose and function of these “parametric” architectures. I’m not familiar with the architecture in Studio Ghibli. If you’re referring to the animated architecture featured Dami’s latest video, even that ancient style may be considered ornamental to some degree. We need a movement back to purity of form/function based on our earth and its natural cycles.

@@StephenCoorlas 1 more thing. People get easily influence by hype (hyper capitalism) and propaganda. Take a look the architecture by Zaha Hadid in Baku. If you remember it looks way good before the A.I thing. Now look at the building after the A.I. generative images. you are thinking wait a minute the A.I can design way better than this. Sky is the limit. Now think what will people think after 100 years for that building? Not as important anymore for sure because of A.I. Studio Ghibli is the name of an legendary animation studio in Japan. Im an animator/architect by the way. If you look their buildings. It’s timeless because it has culture. It never grows old. Also love those 90s gadgets because of form follows function. If u look at now so slim and thin it looks pleasing to the eye but the analog touch is gone.

Thank you. I have been researching earthships and other Earth integrated approaches to building. I do think those design approaches will make there way back into mainstream architecture. But it’s up to us to promote it, study it, and encourage others to believe in it. Perhaps I will create a video more specifically on the principles of building with earth 🌍
