Very tasteful...nice work! Quick tip on the front coolers, oil, intercooler, radiator...etc. I found installing a basic foam insulation around the edges from one cooler to the other (sandwiched between each) will help the cooling. It forces the air through all of the coolers. Without something to direct the air through the coolers, it will take the path of least resistance. For example, of the total amount of air that passes through the first intercooler, a smaller % will then pass through the next cooler, and the a % of that air will pass through the next, and so on...so forth. With some insulation, a larger % of air will increase going through...less air will be loss.

I've looked at getting the one piece lights before for my Evo, purely because the original lights don't have much room for improvement on light output and the headlights are generally pretty poor compared to modern standards. But problem is I've seen many setups where people have done them and they've ended up with bumper sag from the parts they had to cut to fit them in, so it's put me off attempting it. Especially if I then find I don't like them. I also really like the amber sidelights which you can't really do with the one piece setup, short of you taking the lens off and then putting like a clear orange wrap on the reflectors, which could look cool. I'd be curious to see someone try that. I've also thought about the twin light version of those where one side has the inside reflectors wrapped or sprayed to be yellow. Actually what I really wish they made was just a remake of just the headlight clusters, not including the indicator part, and having one of those with a twin light setup I think would look really nice. That said, the stock headlights + amber side markers is just such a classic look. I've still got the clears on mine and trying to find a set of ambers from a 5 or 6.5. I bought a set on ebay but turned out to be for a 4 which had different shape headlights so they don't match up, so need to keep looking. The black lights though I'm not a fan of honestly. Personally I'd just buff back the stock light cluster and pair with the amber indicator cluster. My 6 is also silver and I just felt like the all clear look just drained too much colour out of the car. The amber indicators adds a bit back in which I think looks nice. Also definitely don't think the back needs dropping any more. The nose down stance is exactly how all Evos should sit. Looks great.

Hey Pete, I totally agree that you should wait for Dave to do the startup, seeing two mates react to the fruits of all the hard work is half the reason that I enjoy your channel so much. Others may say differently but I'm sure when you are old and grey that you will look back at these times and think "yeah Dave and I did that" those are the real memories that you will never forget. Digging the ride height, although the rear looks a little low to me, it may rub pretty bad. 18's seem's a little ambitious with the gentlemen low on the track. I hope that I am wrong though it looks badass. Thank you for another great video in these hard times, you guys are Legends!

Many BOVs allow both push and pull type installation. Pull type like you have it will hold more boost but will not modulate power well. You basically get big dumps in power when you do a slight lift causing lift surge. That BOV in general isn't known for good modulation also. A push style with a large upper vacuum area will let the car have more force (psi x area) holding closed than charge pipe trying to open and hole power well. Then the pressure difference with small lifts ( like 100% down to 75%) wont have the surge issue.

PT, loving the build! I would have loved to see you go with Enkei's wheels that are more tarmac rally spec, like the NT03RR wheels. I also am a fan of the amber corners and sides, especially on the silver car - it pops so much more. Also, with the heated plastic bonder, try holding it rotated 90 degrees relative to the crack so there are more wires running across the crack instead of the single wire - it should melt more material together and save you a lot of time.

Looks awesome. The BOV didn't look odd to me but I sold a lot HKS SSQV pull type valves back in the day. Pete another good option for any black trim that oxidizes is try Meguiar's #39 to clean it and Solution Finish. That's the magic combo. The stock lights look good, the only thing I'd do is swap the orange bulbs for ones that still flash orange but don't reflect orange. They used to make ones that had a silver coating but I think everyone goes LED now. I really like those black housing ones too but only if you can get someone to customize the corner light to match.
@awdobsession7174 жыл бұрын
The head lights look sharp now! Although the orange corners really started to look good 2 and tied in the orange side marker indicator lights. You should 125% show your interior work being done to the Evo as many of us here in the US are starting to buy these JDM cars and don’t have as much knowledge on what US parts can transfer over to JDM interior (like the mirage for example). I bought a 1994 Lancer Evolution II GSR recently and I’m still learning little by little about it.

The orange bulb is the only thing that makes it what you thought. Too old school. If you like that style and those lenses. My suggestion would be to get LED bulbs for the blinkers that blink orange so they won’t have that orange bulb color in the back of them when not in use.
