Delightful. I've always wondered what those little screens and curtains you often see behind the organist were for -- was the movement of the player considered distracting for the congregation?

That's not something I've really thought about, and there doesn't seem to be much information about it online either - I've found just one reference, which seems to confirm your theory. However, I wonder if the curtain might perhaps also serve the secondary purpose of helping to keep the organist warm in cold weather?
