Wow Beth you are a Trojan. You did very well with those questions - stayed sharp as a tack & held your ground spectacularly in the face of repeated & even perhaps deliberate mishearing and occasional outright inanity. The expressions on those people's faces said it all - they're not interested. Good on you, standing up for logic & rationality in an increasingly insane world. Well done.

Beth, you were amazing. The way these committee members responded was childish, bullying, and shameful. If society ever returns to a state of collective sanity, we're going to look back on these times with shock. It's frightening to see grown women who need to have it explained to them that men are more violent than women and that humans cannot change sex.

it's shocking that there's seemingly more empathy for AGP's than young girls who don't want to undress in front of fully grown/intact men

Well done Beth. I am disappointed by the committee though. These days it seems easier to bow to the loud male voices than acknowledge reality.

Well done, Beth! The committee was utterly disingenuous. You gave examples of the risks of self I.D. as they've already occurred in countries where it is in force and they refused to engage with this, the central issue at hand. We are seeing more and more of these problems here in Canada. We are talking about self identified trans males who are fully intact physically. In women's refuges, women's prisons, women's sports. And publicly identified as "women" when they commit crimes, including crimes against women and children, assault and rape. Recently a man convicted of a horrifically brutal rape and murder of a woman in Toronto, who requested male pronouns for his trial, has "identified" as a woman and is requesting transfer to a women's prison which is being considered.
