Soo much work. I've been looking for the best way to rig mine up because I hate the mito-02. It takes so much power out of the speakers, I should not be able to hear myself snap my fingers or hear my horrible singing. Very good job man, now I just need more than one day off from work and the motivation to do it lol. I'm looking for a quicker way to make it sound a bit better today but as soon as I have the time I'll be using this. Thank you for the diagram to the wire harness under the seat, the great video and for the hard work lol.
@esqu3l3to3 жыл бұрын
Thanks man, i ended up removing the stock amp, sub and speakers along with the mito. I only got it because i kept the amp. You can try not using it and just wiring the amp turn on directly to the oem amp tho im not sure if that will work. Othwrwise might as well just replace everything at the same time. You'll just need tha basic adapter harness for the new radio since you will use RCA from the radio to the new amp.

Thanks for sharing this video. That stock amplifier you pulled out. Would you know how much power that amplifier have in watts rms? Is this solely to power the stock subwoofer? I was planning to test a different subwoofer on a wooden box enclosure instead of the factory 10 inch sub. Thanks again.
@esqu3l3to10 жыл бұрын
the stock amp is for the sub and all the speakers in the car. Mitsubishi rates this entire system as 710 watts. The sub is a dual voice coil sub, you can use the signal from the factory wiring to connect a new amp and sub. watch my other video on how to install an aftermarket sub and amp while keeping everything else stock. Hope that helps.
@jeopy110 жыл бұрын
thanks again. I will try to check where the preamp signal wire is before the stock amplifier.
@esqu3l3to10 жыл бұрын
jeopy1 If you add a separate amp just for the sub then you can use the wires that are already in the truck for your signal without having to go behind your radio. All you will need is the power and remote wire and ground of course but no need for RCA.
@jeopy110 жыл бұрын
thanks again. I have seen that video as well. I will actually test that option first. since you used the speaker level coming from the stock amplifier, did you had any issues at all with regards to the new amplifier and sub?
@esqu3l3to10 жыл бұрын
jeopy1 No I never had any issues doing that way, I originally had it that way in my lancer before I upgraded my HU amp and speakers but never had any issues. One good thing about doing this and keeping your stock radio is you can still control the punch and bass levels going to the aftermarket amp.

Thats probably just a coinsidense. It may be the amp. I would suggesr tapping into the speaker wires behind the radi and test with a speaker, if you get sound then you know its your amp.

hey man i enjoy watching you're videos, recently i added subs to my 2014 lancer se and aftermaket radio, love the bass but the factory speakers are not good enough for the sound quality, i like to take on swapping speakers i need advice should i get an amp to power the speakers regardless of which ones i buy? and should i just run the wires from the back of the stereo?
@esqu3l3to9 жыл бұрын

Your aftermarket radio should have front/rear outputs to run to the amp. then you can run the wires from the amp back to the harness of the aftermarket radio.
@nitroalan423910 жыл бұрын
Where did you run your power wire through. I see you have a 5 speed as do i and i cant manage to find a good spot on the drivers side. I know the passanger side has a grommet behind the glove box but thats alot of extra wire to use
@esqu3l3to10 жыл бұрын
I ran it through the grommet for the main wire harness just behind the air intake, it was a pain to get that big wire through but it was worth it. I think I have pics of it that I can send you. I'll check cause I cant remember, PM me your email address and if I got them I will pass them over to you.

90DIMER I wired the crossovers under the seat right where the factory amp was installed. I used the wires from the factory harness connections, so from my amp in the trunk down to the crossovers then to the factory wire harness which then went to the speakers.
@90DIMER10 жыл бұрын

@esqu3l3to9 жыл бұрын
unless you are running an amp for the mid and an amp for the tweeters then all you do is go from your 4 channel amp to the xovers then from there to the woofer and to the tweeters. Your xovers will have an input and two outputs (one for the woofer and one for the tweeters).

how did you run the power cable through the engine bay
@esqu3l3to10 жыл бұрын
I run the wire through the grommet right behind the air filter under the hood, its the big grommet that houses the main harness going into the car. I cut a hole in the bottom right corner of it and fed it through there. There is also a grommet on the passenger side right behind the glove box, so depending on what size of wire you want to use you can run your wire on either side.
