Union Ministers Rajnath Singh and Kiran Rijju from the BJP are negotiating with the opposition parties to select one candidate.
It has been reported that those two ministers discussed it with Congress leader Mallikarjuna Kharge, Samajwadi leader Akhilesh Yadav, DMK leader M.K. Stalin, and Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee.
Why do BJP leaders speak with other parties?
This time, Congress holds 99 MPs, the DMK has 40 MPs, and the SP holds 35 MPs.
With this, all parties should support choosing the speaker.
So the opposition demanded a deputy speaker post for the ruling government.
