Speaker Upgrade | Mercedes Sprinter VS30 (907)

The stock speakers of the Mercedes Sprinter 907/VS30 are not very good. So I am upgrading to a new set of ETON Speakers, this set is specifically designed for the Sprinter and is mostly plug and play.

I could hear a slight difference between the two sets of speakers when you played the second track. If I closed my eyes I could discern when the new speakers were playing. I'd agree with you, the new speakers sound more full, or have a rounded sound, and the old speakers make the high notes sound abrasive or sharp - my non technical terminology. :-)

Appreciate this video! Thank you. I disconnected my center a while ago - now I'm concerned that audio from the SOS will not function - or does it use other channels as well? If not I will figure out which pair is the SOS and reconnect to the SOS specific coil. I have some Infinite speakers for my doors to fit with DIYVAN adapters. Now thinking about a sub someplace other than seat (have Espar).

if you have 2 pairs of wires going into the center speaker and you removed one of them, if your center speaker no longer plays back any sound (music) coming from the radio, you disconnected the correct pair. If you still hear music coming from the center speaker, you disconnected the SOS input.

The middle speaker still sounded quite dominant despite changing over. So wiring is as provided throughout all upgrade kits(correcting mercedes mistake?)

it is almost impossible to keep track of what the wrong and what the right wiring is. Mercedes made the change to the correct wiring half way through the model year but of course there is no guarantee they are doing it correctly in all the vans. perhaps you need to change it back and see if this makes it better or worse? What I have found - and this might be just happening to me - is that I am so aware of the overpowered center speaker that I cannot un-hear it. But when I sit on the driver's seat with my eyes closed (or ask my wife to do the same) and point to where the sound is coming from, i hear it coming from straight ahead as it should be. What I'm saying is that anyone aware of the center speaker issue might be biased and hears an issue that is no longer there.

Your right. I willlive with it unplugged for now and get used to the 4 speaker sound before i go through it again. As an aside thanks for the great video- great tips👍

Very informative video. I swapped the center speaker terminals a couple years ago. Now considering to upgrade all speakers like you did. Check the link provided it seems no distributor listed in US😮

Thanks for this video! I did the center speaker disconnect on my 24 and am now considering this upgrade. The manual that you linked to also shows the driver side tweeter panel as also being a bit skewed (page 14) so my guess is the fit/build of the trim is slightly off. Thanks again.

Definitely could hear a difference. Old speakers sounded muddy/muted. New speakers crisper and brighter. I was wearing headphones during your demonstration.

Just wanted to say Danke, I purchased the Eton kit from the website you provided and installed it in my Sprinter. The sound, at least to me, is a noticeable improvement and the center speaker is no longer overpowering the sound. Again, thank you, Raymond

Great video. I could hear a difference, but not that drastic. If you were driving, I'm not even sure you could tell. Not sure if the juice is worth the squeeze. I like the Roam Rig option, but I have a battery under my passenger seat and that's where they put their subwoofer.

thank you. And I agree, it is less noticeable while driving. the RoamRig upgrade is certainly on another level but at more than 10x the cost, I doubt it will be 10x better than the Eton system.

sorry to hear that. when I talked to them, they told me EU VAT will be deducted when the shipping address is in the US. i didn't upgrade the my head unit. I have the 10.25" MBUX and I am pretty happy with it. Aside from being a radio and a navigation system, it also provides a user interface into many functions of the van itself so I don't even know if there is an aftermarket upgrade available that does all of this.

Hallo, ich wollte heute eigentlich ein Set neuer Speaker bestellen und nun habe ich erstmal probiert die Verkabelung im Center Speaker zu tauschen. Aufs erste Hören ist das schon was besser als vorher. Mal sehen ob das schon die Dauerlösung wird. Danke.

Prima. ja, die korrekte Verkabelung vom CS macht schon was aus. Aber das Eton- Set macht es noch besser.
