As a Nigerian, no one was forced to convert to Christianity. Christian missionaries did give privileges such as education to people who became Christian cos they taught them to read. Some also became Christian due to studying in colonial created schools. Many Christian missionaries did come to Africa to try and convert people but the actual colonial masters weren’t so concerned with the local religious practices that didn’t include what they considered “Barbaric”.
