coco自述是5岁跟随父母从山东青岛市搬去的新西兰。 以这个年龄而言，5岁之前的小孩跟社会接触有限，语言环境跟在西方国家生育小孩的父母在家里说中文的环境并无太大区别，顶多是在青岛上过一两年的幼儿园。如果没有刻意训练过自己的双语能力的话，长大以后她的中文不可能这么流利的。coco以前说过，训练自己中文的契机是因为父母的英文说得不够好，为了和父母有良好的沟通使然。
