Tak so mytte. I learned bokmål long ago... Alone before I settle there. Was helped by my knowledges in german and english. Except at the very beginning for pronunciation... But I made it after 3 months talking and listening norwegian people around me. Then it was easier to learn svensk og dansk.

Had decided to learn Germanic languages. I chose Norwegian as for the first Norse language, then I’ll proceed to Swedish, and so on. It’s so interesting, Norsk is a lot like English compared to German, as well as simpler than German, but the pronunciation is always confusing. This is the hardest part for me, the difference in writing and reading. The fact that every town and area has its own accent doesn’t help at all 😅. I hear Oslo pronounced as Oslo, some say Oshlo. Some pronounce Hund (Dog) with the silent D, some don’t. But I love the melody sounding speech. It’s almost like Scandinavians sing and not talk (I heard Swedish is almost like that as well). Also I get confused a lot with et, ett, en; as well as the following words, like is it lite, liten, egg or egget.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 You are talking as if languages are like a little poem you can learn quickly and then pass onto another one, and so on.The fake polyglots of youtube have made a lot of damage on people's minds 🤣And.. English is not that easy, but people are very familiarised with English since they are children, because English is everywhere... so that makes you get a false impression. And, please, Norsk is not easy at all, and comparing it with the "easiness" of English is just so silly. Obviously you don't know much about languages, and delivering here some pronunciation anecdotes you've heard in KZbin is just part of the whole delusion. Focus on learning ONE language, and dedicate to it yeeeearrs and yeeeeaars, not just to the language itself but to the culture.

Hvert ord du sier på norsk høres ut som musikk, og takket være deg vil jeg ikke bare lære språket, men virkelig leve det. Timene dine gjør at norsk ikke bare er et språk - de gjør det til noe magisk og nært for meg. Ærlig talt, hvis det ikke var for deg, Kristine, ville jeg aldri ha trodd at et språk kunne være så tiltrekkende...
