I was just looking at one of your early videos. I just learned the other day if I understand correctly that the "gusto" in "mucho gusto" is actually a noun and not a verb. Gusto = Pleasure. This means that in this case it is not a congugation of "gustar". I also learned from this video that you are a systems engineer. I am a mechanical engineer. I always suspected that you had a higher IQ level than some of the others who make videos about Spanish. Well thanks for introducing your self, it gives me a lot of pleasure to meet you.

There’re some options. In a casual way you could say: Te presento a... / Déjame presentarte a... In a formal way: Le presento a... / Déjeme presentarle a...

Hola Paula! Tengo una duda. Por que en la forma formal diciste dejeme/permitame y en la forma informal diciste permiteme/dejame? Gracias por adelantado.

Larissa Iris Muy buena pregunta, en el modo imperativo cambian un poco las conjugaciones. Fíjate, para el imperativo formal (usted) se usa la forma del presente subjuntivo, en el caso de -AR verbs sería “-e”, por eso “déjeme”, y para -ER / -IR verbs sería “-a”, por eso “permítame”. Ahora bien, para el imperativo positivo informal (tú) se usa la conjugación del presente del indicativo, en el caso de -AR verbs “-a”, por eso “déjame” y en el caso de -ER / -IR verbs “-e”, por eso “permíteme”. Sé que es un poco confuso, espero que sea de utilidad. 😉
