If you wondered how Spear shot was doing in Korea, you didnt even have to know his korean name. All you had to do was look up Pantheon winrate, because spear shot literally IS pantheon in korea. Pre spear shot Pantheon was like 17 games played 30% winrate. Spear shot IS the Korean pantheon.

6:04 The thing that high elo players don't understand is that those "op strats" only work for players who already have well based fundamentals, good macro and overall game knowledge. Yes as a low elo player you can abuse those "broken stats" and it's gonna win you a game here and there but it's not gonna make you climb consistently because you are still gonna make the same mistakes you did without the strat. You don't magically become a better player by following a certain strat, because every game is different. Even tho certain things come down to the same rinse and repeat, every game has different decisions you need to make in order to win it. That's where your game sense, macro and game knowledge comes in (and fundamentals ofc), if you don't have those things down Fakers own strats couldn't make win you games. That's why all those "play this champ and you'll climb" or "do this and you'll win every game" videos are bs, because that's not how the game works. You can only get better by playing a lot of soloQ, with a small champion pool ( of 1-3 champs), on 1 role consistently, with full intensity, taking full responsibility for your losses, reviewing your games and your decisions and trying to improve. It also helps if you look at high elo games of players playing your role and even better your champions so you can see what they're doing, why they're doing it and how they got to that conclusion. If you do that for multiple months, I guarantee you that you will climb with out a doubt. It does take a lot of effort and patience and you will notice a plato at some point but you gotta push through it and detach your emotions from your losses and wins. Climbing is not meant to be easy, it's a long and hard journey that will cost you your nerves. But if you put in the necessary work and follow the process you will see results, not only in your gameplay but your mentality and eventually even your rank. Anyway enough of my pep talk

To be fair to the Koreans, this IS how champs become meta. It's not like we actually know just from reading patch notes all that's actually going to change as far as champ strength goes. There's basically always a slam dunk for the current state of play waiting around, stuck in the wrong role or not using the new right items to bust out a crazy winrate. Seems pretty obvious in hindsight, now that we're watching Spear, that Panth would be one of those.

Fun fact, pantheon actually scales really well. The myth that panth falls off comes from the fact that most top laners (riven, fiora, camille etc ...) beat him at one item, but he becomes a monster once you have 3+ items and a lot of cdr (plus the tempo he brings with his R). Also his passive 30% armor pen at lvl 16 is very underratted. If you pair that with the instant cleaver shred + his lethality items you're basicly dealing true damage to anything that is not a rammus If you look at Panth winrate in relation to the duration of the game you see that he falls off in the mid game but his winrate skyrockets once the game is 30+ minutes long

tbh this korea trip these challenger players made just proved there isnt too much difference between the servers all of them can make challenger in korean server it's mainly just the pro games that is different, korea is like the earliest country that made competitive gaming an actual serious business/industry, while other countries laugh at gamers for having no life or actual jobs. Korea had organized and strict training programs for pro gamers way before the other countries, which start to copy because they realized this is the only way to catch up.

I just started playing again and one of the hardest things about low elo is if there is a scripter or a high elo one trick on the other team. One challenger or scripter can take 5 bronze or silvers especially since they don't prioritize objectives.
