Honestly I can so relate to the adrenaline rush of spear fishing when you get one. At my grandma's lake there is an invasive fish called a rock bass that kills all other species of fish so we always spear fish them and man when you sneak up on them and spear em the feeling is like none other. It's an amazingly fun and crazy time!

The more I watch,the more I learn,it’s my new thing,am swimming at the Y. Almost every day, I have invested the best equipment,it’s not cheap. I am working on my breathing control. Only 10- 15 ft. I am 64 and 100% disabled. But am holding a positive attitude. The folks at the Y are awesome we help each other. I am postponing my Bear hunt this season. Im 13 and I spearfish and I have ran into a small hammerhead shark before and it wasn’t that scary. Another time I speared a fish and a nurse shark came up and went for my fish I was a little scared.

Ejezu You are right. Fish that are stressed before they are killed taste worse. It has to due with adrenaline that uses up glycogen from the muscles which after death turns into the lactic acid that keeps your fish from being tough and tasteless.

I just want to comment that it really is cloudy water, but that didn't stop you from bangin' down two in that 7:00! I'm now closing in on 81 years old, and having spent two tours of duty in 'Nam back in the 60s', as part of the UDT-2 Team, I wouldn't even attempt to go even Scuba at this time of my life; too dangerous, I don't any longer have a death wish, plus my beautiful Nurse Daughter wouldn't hear of it! She keeps me sane. I sure would't trust my eyesite especially in that somewhat murky water (This coming from a guy that spent half of my two term in SouthEast Asia, doing many dives at night! I don't know if you'll read this but you shouldn't be killing fish just for the sake of killing them and getting that adrenaline rush. You're taking a life and you should respect that, you shouldn't be taking shots on fish that you aren't even that proud of when you catch them. Spearfishing is the most sustainable way of fishing since it's so selective and you can catch exactly what you want but it defeats the purpose if you're just killing to kill. Like some of those Sheepshead were barely big enough to even get any meat off of. I get it's can be fun and a rush but I just think you should respect the fact that you're taking a life and there should be purpose behind it.
