super solid videos dude. good editing, all the footage you want to see and none of the over dramatic music or vlog esque crap that smaller channels try and put in

Thanks Brad! Glad you enjoyed it. In many cases I think simple spearfishing videos focusing on the hunt just works better.

Another amazing one!! nice edit Bo ;) The landscape is litterally breathtaking and the water really clear. Maybe a good destination for next holiday. Pollacks are even bigger than in Brittany ^^
@Kakkijonnes2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Clement! Norway is spectacular and the fishing is unbelievable. You should definitely go! Further south the pollacks are even bigger. I got them up to 8,6 kg (its in my norway video from 2017). The record is around 12 kg if I remember correctly. 7,9 kg pollack here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJnKiGSOapZ8iqc

What an amazing video - wow - the fishing you have over there is phenomenal! I’m just about to buy a Polo Sub wetsuit, I was wondering what type you have? Is it the Smoothskin or the Forza Tre? What thickness did you go for?
@Kakkijonnes2 жыл бұрын
Thanks - great you enjoyed it! Norway is spectacular all the way from Vestlandet going north. I used a Polo Sub smoothskin 8,5 mm. top in this video (and 7 mm. cressi pants). Chose it over the sandwich construction of the Forza Tre to have more warmth and as I reckon it is strong enough in smoothskin in that thickness. Generally use it when the water is below 10-12 degrees, which happens a lot in Denmark, my homeground. It's very warm and have enough streetch to make it comfortable to dive in - al though it is not as a 5mm suit... Remember to add maybe 3 cm to your neck measurement if you go for it. I addede around 2 cm., and find it a bit too tight. See you dive in Wales - I envy your sea bass fishing! Have subbed and looking forward to check out your channel!

Very good video! Thank you. Very interesting to have your written comments along the video to identify fish and fishing conditions. Any salmon?
@Kakkijonnes2 жыл бұрын
Thanks - glad you liked it! Yeah actually think I saw salmon on two occasions, but briefly and in a lot of current. Salmon and sea trout are generally very, very shy - and illegal to spear in norway too...

The water is so clear! I'm going to Lofoten for the first time and can't wait to get underwater! Did you see any scallops there? I've seen videos of scallop diving in other parts of Norway but not Lofoten.
@Kakkijonnes2 жыл бұрын
You won't regret going to Lofoten! Didn't see any scallops though - even in places that would have hold many further south.

Great vid! Norway looks stunning - both above and underwater! I'm moving to Denmark next year from Sydney (my partner is Danish) and so excited for my first trip up north. That's a 110cm you're using right? That's usually the go-to down here, but I wondered if something a little shorter would be more common in the North Sea with generally less visibility?
@Kakkijonnes3 жыл бұрын
Glad you liked it! Norway is stunning indeed and one of the best places in the world for cold water spearfishing. Denmark - my homecountry - doesn't have the same possibilities, although it is also very cold... You can catch good eating fish almost all year around, though (mainly a lot of different species of flatfish, cod, trout, garfish and the like. Sea bass, mullets, crabs and lobsters in some parts too). Normally I use a 90 cm. gun in Denmark and some people even prefer 75 cm. guns. Although the visibility in the early spring and late automn can be very good (sometimes above 15 meter) it is the norm to find less than 4-5 meters of viz. As the fishing itself it varies a great deal around the country - send me a mailadress or the like if you want more info about where you are going. Will be happy to give you an intro.

what a super nice video,... just what I am looking forward to! Living in Austria, most of the time I can just dream of spearfishing. Next spring we will dive to Norway again and I hope to find my first "flat" fish. at the moment I am looking for a speargun, do you know any good online shop or any gun you can recomand? thanks
@Kakkijonnes3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Reinhard! The spearfishing in Western Norway and north is spectacular. I am sure you will find some flatfish and probably even more pollack and cod. Take care of the algae bloom (normaly in late may/june) if you are going in the spring, as it reduces visibility quite a lot. Summer and fall is probably the best time to spearfish in Norway. I have owned Omer, Pathos and Rob Allen-spearguns and would definetly recommend a Rob Allen gun due to durability, ability to handle big fish and the simple thought through design of every feature. In Denmark (home) I use a 90 cm gun and abroad for clearer water (e.g. Norway, The Azores and NZ) I prefer a 110 cm gun. You could use a 90 cm. gun in Norway though, but think you will be glad with the improved accuracy and range of a longer gun when you get used to it. Good luck!
