Spearfishing my PB Poenskop 20,7kg (Black Musselcracker)

In this video I manage to spear my personnel Poenskop (Black Musselcracker, Black Steenbras) in my backyard. The initial shot on the fish was solid, but the blood filled cave and dimensions of cave made retrieving the fish very challenging. I had an amazing dive buddy, he changed his focus on retrieving my fish.

What a stunning fish, but hopefully you will stop shooting Poensies. They are exceptionally slow growing and stock severely threatened and already down to only 20%.. Especially the big big breeding stock fish..

I couldn’t agree more. The breeding fish ( such as the one in the video ) is in excess of 30-40 years old.
