These are such great videos! They are greatly appreciated and we use them every meeting of our first responder group.

While there are chest seals sold, you can do the same thing with Suran wrap and tape in a pinch.

Yep, an improvised chest seal is very effective. Just be sure not to wrap too tightly to allow expansion of the chest when breathing. Thanks Don.

I was an EMT for 11 years and an Instructor in the Coast Guard back before they actually made ready-made seals, so we had to improvise, adapt and overcome a multitude of possibilities.

Thanks for the refresher video. I don't have a medical background, I need to see this type of stuff a few times.

Halo vs Hyfin, any thoughts?

If vented is recommended in all cases now, seems like buying a pack that has a non-vented is a bit of waste. I wonder if Halo will just start including two vented seals instead?

Is there any time that a non vented seal is preferred
@MountainManMedical Жыл бұрын
Not that I am aware of. Current procedures advocate for vented so blood and air may escape if it can, but if you don't have vented, it's not the end of the world. Apply the seals, front and back, and look to transport as soon as possible.
