This resonates quite a bit, my ex tried to trap me with gaslighting and manipulation and a fake pregnancy, then when I left her she told me “ do the world a favor and kill yourself” She’s a dark triad/dark empath. 😢 I wish I knew who the new person was because I would love to be in a new relationship, but not if it’s going to be a karmic one again. I don’t judge people by their past in fact I don’t even question it, especially if they don’t feel comfortable talking about it because it’s just going to bring up bad memories or make them feel like they are not a good person for you or that you will be judgmental towards their past.
