I love how you’re raising your boys to be brave. My father-in-law always told me, please don’t kill the adventure in your son, don’t make him afraid of everything. I took that to heart even when it made my momma’s heart want to scream nooo! He had lots of bumps and scrapes (nothing terrible) but he survived it all. He’s 29 now and tells everyone he had the best childhood and has so many stories to tell everyone. It makes my heart smile to hear him say that. I think I did okay. And I know you guys are doing okay as well.

I agree with your father in law and you totally. I am now 74 yrs old. I do not have many trophies to display to the world of my achievements. But I can say that I fractured my bones of my adventurous life which I don’t regret at all. Through all those daring pursuits I have learnt a lot in life. My wife and I raised our son and daughter giving them lots of freedom like the Newbys. Now they are raising their children giving them the same life. Love and care in raising your children is not restricting their lives by saying no, no. You may have broken bones in the process but you learn how to live your lives to the full.

My parents were very poor when they were young. They made Christmas ornaments out of walnut shells. They cracked them in half took out the nut and glued them back together and painted them red. They did not have green ribbon so they used blue. They always put them on the tree together. I found some glass gold walnuts and gave them to them for their 50th Anniversary. They are also put on the tree together. As with every year this year I am happy to say, was the same as all the others in the past, some 59 years later.

Merry Christmas’The Newby’s’ from Scotland. I rarely comment but that was lovely. I have the honour of watching my grandchildren opening their presents on Christmas morning but , from choice, spend the rest of my day alone. A tradition I started my first Christmas as a widow but this year, 5 years later, I am really looking forward to my own space in what has been a very busy year. Congratulations to the winner of a piece of merchandise. I remember getting the knee thing as I saw Crusoe go on that roof, but I'm really happy that you do let your boys do things that have a potential for danger because I know how cautious and watchfull you are. Wow, thank you for that Christmas special. The Mushroom Wellington looked fabulous! I think I may have to try that when I go home to stay with my Mom in Colorado. She is vegan and I think would love it! Crusoe's face watching the fireworks was adorable. He was memorized. I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas.

Very happy to see you having a plant-based dinner 😊🌲. I just made Wellington for hubby’s 50th surprise party and everyone was not plant based but absolutely loved it 🥰. I also make hollandaise from raw cashews, garlic powder, lemon juice, tumeric, & Dijon mustard, pinch salt and 1/2 cup water. Then pour on top your hot food. Merry Christmas to you all…we ❤️ you! I love that ornament tradition! As my children are already adults, it’s too late to start for their childhood memories, but I would love to do it for the grandbabies to come someday. We loved this special episode so much. Christmas time is my favorite time of the year, partly because it's my birthday Christmas Eve. It's so special to see your young family creating Christmas traditions. Your family is precious. Oh so love the decorations for the children. We didn't do it for our own children but have done that for our grandchildren from the year they were born. The eldest has a collection of 26 tree ornaments while the youngest has a collection of 11 with all the other grandchildren having a collection that matches their age. We have always matched the decorations to their interests or events in their lives. I have also embroidered or written (small print), on each decoration in an unobtrusive place the date of the year given. Many of the decorations are home-made but still reflect an episode of their respective lives during the previous year.

John, I have to admit at first zooming in on you I did think you were Tara and wondered what she did to her hair and then you turned around. It was funny! So good job. Tara, God bless you (sneezing). My mom always told me I could do anything I set my mind too. I'm 72 and she's gone now and I still remember hearing her say those words.
