I would be in favor of raising taxes for neighborhood schools. As a product of a northern public school system, with an elementary school within walking distance of my home. It appears that state guidelines govern the construction of public schools. In my opinion school location and construction is not part of long-term plan. Neighbor schools foster health cohesive communities. Conversely, busing is a barrier to participation in school events, activities for both students and parents and community involvement.
