There's nothing wrong with changing pronouns, some lyrics, or even the way the song is arranged for covers. The whole point of cover songs is to interpret your own version of the song. There's nothing disrespectful about it and most artists are aware of this fact. Dreamcatcher not changing the lyrics is more likely because they like the song better that way or their company told them they can just do the cover just like that. It's less about respect and more about preference-- like most cover songs.
