I live in Newnan... It's horrific & devasting to say the least! Tons of volunteers & emergency workers worked tirelessly all night & all day to recover all survivors and get them to safety. So many families listened as their homes were ripped apart piece by piece. People trapped all night until they could be dug out. Tons of historic homes were destroyed, our high school is useless. Everyone knows someone who lost everything, it's just horrific. 😭 But Newnan ALWAYS stands together!! We collected so many donations that police & recovery teams told us to stop & people were starting to refuse. Strangers loaning out their extra rooms to those that were hit, offering showers & food to complete strangers. People offering their fenced yards for pets, offering to babysit free of charge so parents could collect any leftover belongings. ❤️ Just pray everyone, we will feel this impact long after you forget it ever happened. #NEWNANSTRONG

Hello. I'm glad people are coming to help. Can you tell me what is the big brick building, maybe 3-4 stories? It's sort of a modern colonial style. I saw it in another video. It didn't look like a school or hotel and is probably too big for a city hall for a town your size. It certainly is an attractive building.

It was a scary night last night. Thanks to God, our house was spared but the Emergency system woke us up, looked out the front door, and saw alot of lightning, a large black cloud just to our west(we live east of Newnan) ,it was quiet and still for a minute, then the wind picked up and it did sound like a freight train from a distance. Tornadoes are scary. We had one years ago. It was ominous..the skies went from silver to absolute green. It was like having on sunglasses. Everything was super still, then all of a sudden every tree in sync laid over, and through the mountains you could just hear what sounded like a freight train with his horn steady screaming. There was a path of destruction over a mile wide and 2 counties long. People really should heed the warnings they get.

I personally think it’s better to lose an entire house than have just part of the house destroyed. It takes months to get someone to fix something especially a contractor and in the meantime, bugs, snakes, birds all find their ways in. It may rain again likely, ruins the other parts of your house. It’s just a damn disaster. People say, “But you can rebuild”. You have any idea how long the government takes to pay you for your house that was destroyed on a claim? They usually only pay you for last appraisal which could financially kill you.
