It is well-known that mistakes made by previous governments and officials have caused the current problem of water stagnation, not only near the Musi riverbed but also in many parts of the city, especially during the monsoon season. Many families who spent their life savings to build homes are now suffering greatly because their houses are being demolished. In light of this, we respectfully ask your government to consider the following steps to help law-abiding citizens who are affected: 1) Allotment of Plots: We request that families who are losing their homes be given residential plots, at least in areas around the city outskirts or near the Regional Ring Road. This would be in addition to the Double Bedroom Housing Scheme, allowing these families to rebuild their lives in safer locations. 2) House Loan Assistance: For those who had legally obtained government approval to build their houses, we kindly ask the government to help close their outstanding home loans. This would reduce the financial burden on families who are losing their homes unexpectedly, despite following all legal procedures. These measures would provide much-needed support to families in this difficult situation.
