His story should be out so all of those clowns can consider checking themselves before they smear another good dude like Mike.

I'm curious that when it comes to survival if issues arise in my opinion the ability to avoid confrontation and become like " gray man" blending in and avoid situations is super important . Most of us civilians have no business getting in shootouts as we are not operators. No matter how Mach training you get or how good you shoot guarantees a good outcome in a shootout. I see a lot of people be like I got all this kit vest guns ammo thinking that's what's going to keep you from dieing. In reality even if you win a shooting but get injured in a significant way your probably already dead if there is no way to get to a hospital. Don't get me wrong I have all the kit crap but it's just for extra safety. I would absolutely avoid or retreat from any confrontation if at all possible. Just a thought wondering what a real operator thinks of that to see if I make se m se or not lol

Great concept Shawn! Both you and Mike are 2 of my favorites but didn’t know you had kinda launched your careers together this way. Shawn has produced some of the FINEST most vitally important interviews I’ve ever seen. And Mike’s level headed approach to preparation sets him apart from so many of the so-called prepper genre. Bravo to both you dudes.

I ETS’d in 1986 from the 82nd Airborne Division. A week after 9/11, I reenlisted as a Combat Medic and entered through the berm in Southern Iraq with the USMC 1st MEF. 355 days later, I exited from Diamondback airstrip in Mosul on a C-17. I got bumped to a new unit once the unit we were attached to went home. We got 4 different combat patches out of it. Not bad for an Army National Guardsman.

I had to contact General Huck just to get back in the Marine Corps. I owe that man my life. So many prior enlisted were turned away from recruiters because they focus solely on new applicants instead of seasoned military men who just wanted in. They coordinated an effort to push these men and women towards the reserves. They would have been content taking a reduction in rank to put people into the ground.

My dad fought in Iraq and Afghanistan and scooped his best friends brains into a Gatorade bottle during a fire fight because of the shock. It was the only thing he could think about during the full on assault from above buildings as they walked down the street. I say this because I want Shawn to have more Ukraine operators on the show who deal with this sort of dichotomy on a daily basis. Whether that is due to the fact their war is a full on on peer to peer conflict or they are given less support overall. I respect the special forces influencers but I would greatly appreciate hearing the voices of the guys in Ukraine who are being laid out in the mud from drones and artillery. I think they would be less likely to glorify an actual peer to peer conflict and would probably turn away young guys from wanting to be a part of something so horrifying. That is just my take from listening to these sorts of social media guys over the years. There is no honor in war and I want to hear more of those sorts of stories from the guys in the modern day conflict tell you the horrors of trench warfare ect. Enough is enough. We need the perspective of guys who are living in a helpless situation every single day. Guys who would give anything to make it all stop and aren't considering making it their retirement gig.
