On the eve of these recordings, the "German Group H Berg Cup" was formed. Around 30 interested people accepted the invitation from Bruno Höfler, Herbert Morent and Martin Kleiner. Later in the evening, Andreas Schettler was to join the organizational team of a revolutionary idea as press officer and minute-taker of the evening.
At that point in time, none of those present on Friday evening, October 9, 1987, suspected that something truly historic was happening in the smoky back room of the Hotel Löwen in Oberjoch. Group H drivers up to 1300 ccm, organisers, officials, press (Jürgen Hug) and track spokesman (Hannes Martin) witnessed how an idea took shape and from then until today has written a success story in German mountain racing and the European motorsport landscape .
