I can't lie. The ending was cool, it all made sense, but it didn't quite do it for me. This is still the first piece of live action superhero media that I would call high art, but I felt the ending was a little too nice for Watchmen. Evil was punished, Veidt got one over on Lady Trieu, then gets arrested? I wanted Lady Trieu to win, become Dr. Tulsa or whatever to save humanity, only to immediately realize that seeing all of time at once removes your investment in humanity, I dunno something like that. I still loved Lou Gossett Jr.'s speech at the end, and I saw the egg coming, but I would have cut before Angela ingested it, maybe show her start to crack it for one last "tick tock". But that's just me.

I'm not of the mind that everything needs to be a franchise. The only Watchmen that resonates for me is the Alan Moore/Dave Gibbons original. Like experiencing something for the first time. @BlackangelKatakuri5 жыл бұрын
I mean world views id argue are what made it awful just like the Disney Star Wars trilogy .
@MidTierVillain5 жыл бұрын
Katakuri Fan I disagree, but please expand by what you mean. What exactly is wrong with Watchmen series, is it black ppl can’t be heroes, or white ppl can’t be villains? Is it a issue within other genres & shows? Do you find it pandering when it’s the other way around in fictional series/movies? What exactly is the issue with Watchmen series that has ppl saying it’s horrible? Great actors, characters, storyline, dialogue; the season finale had me assume it’s more about Hooded Justice than anything else.. it started with him, and ended with him. The white supremacist part used the same dialogue you see everywhere on KZbin, especially when it comes to any form of diverse entertainment. In the end, racism was used to distract from the real objective, which was a Asian woman that was the true villain.. Maybe I’m missing something, because I definitely don’t criticize anything purely based on the gender or race of characters, just the acting, directing, and storyline.. Star Wars? That’s the comparison? How.. or is that the go-to now because it’s the hot topic? They don’t even compare.. not on any level. Man Of Action stated “Not enough white man bad” what does that even mean? Was it a issue when it was black gangs, thugs, killers as villains, and white man hero? Or when white man bad, but it’s the white man that saves the day- hence Die Hard? Or when Conan the Barbarian had a black villain? I don’t get it.. the series was great, and ended the season nicely. We got Hooded Justice origin, and finale- saw being a god is boring, and hopeless.. saw racism is just a divide & conquer distraction, and all races worked together, as well, the man who saved the day was white, AND! The smartest man on earth.. what is the issue? Even in Watchmen the hero was a white man.
@padenbang73755 жыл бұрын
In your "humble" opinion something is phenomenal, but the rest of us are missing out? Wow, that's so "humble" of you. Did you actually read what you wrote? So.... according to you, people who don't watch or like the series have "certain world views" Based on their opinion of a television program? Just so you're aware, you sound like a prick. Forced ideological pandering doesn't equal quality content. Just ask James Cameron
@MidTierVillain5 жыл бұрын
Paden Bang what was forced ideological pandering about Watchmen.. expand on that, if you can. The watchmen started with Hooded Justice, a black hero, and ended with him.. where was the forced ideology at? I truly want to read your perspective on that.. The rest of your comment? I assume you never came across those reviews that trashed the series simply based on a trailer.. the first episode, and summed it up with “Go Woke Go Broke” or as one of the replies stated “WHITE MAN BAD” type of criticism. But, I haven’t seen anybody who actually watched the series give it a bad review- just ppl who are triggered by the series, because of what they thought it was about. Even the 7th Calvary made good points in this series, both sides had great points.. in the end it came down to what Watchmen Graphic Novel was about, but instead of nuclear weapons? Dr Manhattan is the power the world wants to harness & control. I don’t get it, you’re frustrated with me, because I said worldviews? Then you follow with a worldview as a criticism? Please, if you can, expand on your reply.. I stand on my opinion/perspective.. the series is phenomenal.
