Hi John, that chopper turned out absolutely fantastic, you have done a 'top notch' build and paint finish, one of the things with this hobby is life, work and everything else gets in the way, always blame computer issues, ha ha, I truly emjoy all of your videos, keep safe and well my friend, best regardsto you and yuor family, from a Kiwi living in Australia

Thanks so very much for your kind words Les- the computer issues are really frustrating considering the computer is only a year old. 😒 Hopefully I'll have a new build to share in a week or so. Hope you're doing well!

Nice job John! I've been a rotary wing crewmember and mechanic for 30 years. You have captured the look quite well. I really like how you captured the sun fading and weathering on the rotor blades. On your next whirley bird, you might try showing wear down to the aluminum skin on the leading edge. Now, they were replaced more frequently due to battle damage and a somewhat primitive environment but the leading edges of rotor blades start showing paint erosion pretty quickly. Representing this would have your main rotor blades spot on. Finally, awesome intro music for the Snake build. Really beautiful build.

Thank you very much for the kind words - I wasn't sure about the leasing edges of the blades so I didn't do any wear. This was definitely a fun build and a great bargain. Again, thanks for watching!

Thanks very much Tony - this was actually a pleasant build with few issues along the way that weren't my own doing. Appreciate your watching! See you for the next one.

do you ever test spray on a poster board to see how the colors look before spraying? I tried winging it and ended up with a disaster , anyways nice job on the helicopter it really looks great.

@@randy2835 to be quite honest, I rarely test before I paint. Usually I think out my process and just do it, usually in a small patch at the beginning just in case.

It turned out great. Congrats! Have you had the Cobra on Scale Model Shows or Cups? I am just about to start this kit. I got my hands on the Marine HiTech box at a local scale model show and paid only 57 Bucks for it just before vendor closed. For this price it was like free. What did you use for fixing canopies? Normal cement, PVA or some kind of clear glue? Just one observation. The instruction for colors are wrong in some points. For instance the gearbox are of AH-1G was not painted in zinc chromate yellow but more like green zinc chromate. As far as I know chromate yellow was used for later versions. Cheers

Thanks very much for the kind words. If I didn't have so much piled up I'd have picked up a copy of that Marine kit as well. Also Reskit has developed a bunch of stuff for the transmission. For canopies I use PVA called Gator Grip. Appreciate your observations and thanks for watching!
