Guru govind Singh asked banda Bahadur a Rajput to help and do duty as Rajput to save Punjab. Maratha always support Rajput so Maratha backed Rajput as well. We can see how Maratha kicked out Mughal and Muslim from Punjab. Raja Ranjit Singh first Raja of punjab in 1799 who was Rajput of Rajasthan Bhati Village. Their ancestor used to write Bhati as last name. A true Sansi Rajput.
