I have a 2014, 1025R and for the 1st time I took the backhoe off to use my 3-point hitch. It didn’t raise up, so I watched a KZbin video on replacing the valve, I’m 65 years old and a handicapped lady, I’m hoping I can change it myself as the dealership will charge a arm and a leg. Wish me luck Tim, I watch TTWT instead of regular TV, thanks for all the information you share .

I just purchased a new compact utility tractor and love it so far. For the work I do, it will come in handy, and one thing I like about it is the rubber mat which is handy, and the seat it has on it. My other tractor is a 790 which didn't have a floor mat at all. My new tractor have the power steering which is nice also, and the easy shift transmission which is easier than my older tractor.

Awesome walk round video on the the new 2025R. What I like is the little black side steps above the mower deck incorperated on the main operators deck area. I am 5' 4" tall & seems like a high step for me to git onto my tractor to operate. I was thinking here the other day, that if I could some how build a step just under the main platform deck that would be easier for me to get up & onto my "Johnny". Now this new 2025R already has this idea that I had thought of just last week. I wonder if this same step setup on the 2025R would fit the 1025R? I also like the incorporated backhoe seat on this new 2025R. I do not like having to swivel the 1025R operator seat 180° just to operate the backhoe. But that's the way it was designed. I wonder if this new backhoe seat idea would fit the 1025R 260 backhoe??? God bless ya'll for sharing this new video.

Hi Tim, just a comment on the steps that are on the tractor, I wish that I could find similar steps for my 1025r, it would be better than stepping on the mower deck to get on the tractor like I do now. Maybe someone will fabricate some eventually, like Kens bolt on hooks, or R2 manufacturing. I'm very happy with R2's Edge tamer's, they are very well built, and made to last unlike a lot of things you buy these days.

More lights options, no biggy!. Lifting or extending some of the control levers is good. On my 1025r I am doing the same. I put a 4" vice grip on my PTO level lever, makes it easier as I have the seat mostly forward. Same power train as 1025R.

My understanding is that the rear axle is heavier duty so the 3 pt. Hitch capacity is significantly higher than a 1025R and the hydraulic output is a little higher so the loader capacity is slightly higher. I have yet to see one in person.

Hi Tim. Do you know if JD have any plans to make the 2032R/2038R in the smaller 2025R frame size? Or conversely upgrade the 1025R/2025R current models to include the 2032R/2038R features like command cut, auto throttle and electric cruise control. For me, the large frame 2 series are a bit big and heavy, but I’d love to upgrade my 2016 1025R to a small frame 2 series and get all the features of the large frame 2 series.

Great video Tim, nice to see a 1025r with bigger tires...lol. Even though the smaller tires on the real 1025r were a seller for me. I have some low hanging trees and a smaller garage, so the smaller tires were a good thing. But whenever I drag the backhoe or bottom of the tractor, (usually when unloading off a trailer) I always think "I wish I had a little bit bigger tires." I like all the improvements they made on this 2025r. I will admit though... I don't think I'll ever get rid of my 1025r. It's so useful in so many ways because of its size. The two questions that I would have liked to have seen you ask the rep would be "Can you use the 1025r mower decks on the 2025r?" And "Has the front axel been redesigned?" I've heard a lot of complaints about the weak flimsy old 2000 series axles. The 1000 series axles "SEEM" to be beefier. All in all, I think Deere did a great job on this. They are really starting to get it right. (Except for not including the diff-lock pedal) jeeze that's annoying. But I ended up 3D printing one and it's worked out great for half a year now. Maybe I'll 3D print me some of those nifty side cover quick releases too.
@TractorTimewithTim7 жыл бұрын
You can get diff lock pedal from boltonhooks.com. I have a video on it.
@gdeisig7 жыл бұрын
Tractor Time with Tim, yup I've seen your video and checked them out. Ken does a nice job with his items. I was gonna buy one, but recently aquiring a 3D printer has opened up a whole new world of modification to my tractor for pennies. (Minus the cost of the printer) Which, if it hasn't by now... will very soon have paid for itself in savings. Now all deere needs to do, is add some kind of a lock to the stabilizer arms while they're down and the backhoe is unhooked so the backhoe doesn't sag down and shift position while being stored.
@TractorTimewithTim7 жыл бұрын
Had hard is the material you 3D print? Is it hard enough to stand up to the rigors necessary for a pedal? If so, I may have to rethink one of these things!
@gdeisig7 жыл бұрын
Tractor Time with Tim, they have various materials to choose from ranging from PLA (the simplest, cheapest material to work with and is a very hard plastic, but is a low temp plastic) to really dense super high heat deflection "peek". Of course temperatures vary depending on the material your using, and not all printers can print all materials. I belive my toughest filament I have is polycarbonate abs. It's very dense and would make a great pedal, but I decided to print one out of simple cheap PLA plastic first, just to get a prototype going. But as it turns out, my PLA pedal has been on my tractor all year and hasn't warped, mis-shapen, cracked, or caused me any trouble in any way. It is hard as a rock. This will be the first winter for it, so I'll find out how PLA holds up to the bitter cold. But to answer your question more directly, yes it's very tough for everyday applications when you print it with good material with the correct settings and geometry. There are lots of videos online with some great insight to 3d printing. If you would like to see my pedal, here is the link to the file on thingiverse. www.thingiverse.com/thing:2297047 If you access this link via your phone, you can swipe left and right on the picture to see more. If you access it on a computer you will see all the image thumbnails to click on.

All that being said, sounds like there is still a zip-tie solution. I finally implemented that one while taking all the covers off to investigate wiring options for ROPS lights. My goal was to put a rocker switch in the hole meant for the optional electronic mower deck lift so I could have flexibility in how many lights were on. In the end I decided to just use the ROPS light connection provided with the factory wiring harness.

Hi Tim, Awesome walk around on the new tractor! I have one question, do most of the tractor owners that you know want the ability to mow with their tractors? For me, I already have a mower and it is great at what it does, very fuel efficient and can BAG... I know that most of the tractor owners here in NYS don't mow with their tractors unless they brush hog or flail, but for regular grass everyone has a separate mower. Do you think that there would be a market for a tractor that eliminates the mid-mower gear train and maybe comes in a lot cheaper? Thanks! 😃👍

What considerations would you have to help you make your decisions. Would you be able to walk through the deere "build your own" options and talk through some of the different options? So many things to consider...Draw bars, draft links, tire options, raidator clean out screens, tillers, hydraulic kits, different light packages, hitches, loaders, lions and tigers and bears OH MY! Did you happen to notice if this new model 2025R has an exposed front driveshaft??? I own the previous model 2025R that I purchased in may 2017 this year with the 130 loader and 270 backhoe. Problem #1 Bad reverse switch on hydro pedals PTO kept shutting off. # 2 fully exposed front driveshaft I was mowing a field with a brush hog and the back side of the field was wet I put the tractor in 4wd and the grass wrapped around the front driveshaft and pushed the pinion seal out of the transfer case. causing the hydraulic fluid to completely drain out of the tractor. Granted warranty covered the problems. However this design is very poor. I even contacted john Deere corporate and explained the situation and wanted to trade-in and upgrade to a different model and after several phone calls I got absolutely NO WHERE with john Deere. No return calls and wouldn't even consider trade-in. even after I explained I be wiling to pay more. I love John Deere and have owned many of there garden and farm tractors though the years. Can I get a optional hydro option for the loader so if i want a grapple or 4 in 1 bucket?
@TractorTimewithTim7 жыл бұрын
+Robert Porter you can get one from www.artillian.com. Perfect match for 1025r,2025r
@Robertdrivesaway7 жыл бұрын
Tractor Time with Tim after looking at www.artillian.com I think you should ask the finance committee for their grapple. It will make projects and jobs go faster so there for more family time.

My dad saw this model at a dealer up north, and now he can't stop talking about modding my backhoe to have this one's features...lol I wonder if the 260B will still be compatible with the older 1025r, 1026r, and 1023e?
@TractorTimewithTim7 жыл бұрын
260B works on NEW 1025R's, but not compatible with the older ones.

Hi Tim. When is the finance department going to let you get this. About how much more is the 2025R over the 1025R. Is the front end loader compatable between the two tractors.
@TractorTimewithTim7 жыл бұрын
+michael winstead same loader as 1025r. I do not know pricing yet.
@1frtrkdtr7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for replying. I watch all of your post. Enjoy all of them. I wanted a 2025 when I bought my 1025R back in March. At the time the 2025 was no longer in production. Tried to locate a 2025 but could not.

Wondering the loader and hoe are the same as my 1025. How do they get the extra lift capacity? Is it a higher volume pump or something?
@TractorTimewithTim6 жыл бұрын
They raised the hydraulic pressure
@WolfinWolvesClothing7136 жыл бұрын
Ok, so I dont know if you ended up getting one, but if you were to trade the 10 for the 20 would you keep the same hoe or step up to the next size so you can keep your 3 point stuff on? And have a stronger hoe. I'm waiting for a quote right now. Trying to decide.
@TractorTimewithTim6 жыл бұрын
2025r and newer 1025r use the same backhoe. 2038r/2032r use larger backhoe and have larger frame size / wheelbase as well. If you need the tightest turning radius stick with 1025r, otherwise, choose 2038r if you can afford.
@WolfinWolvesClothing7136 жыл бұрын
@@TractorTimewithTim that's why I ask about going to the next size backhoe so I can keep my 3 point stuff on it, and have the next stronger hoe. I need the extra couple hundred lbs lift and the ground clearance. I just really feel like between using it for firewood in the woods and doing driveways etc for neighbors, that I would be better off with just a little more tractor than mower. Idk. I dont think I will regret it but I definitely can't do the next level in horsepower. That starts getting out of my budget. Lol.
@TractorTimewithTim6 жыл бұрын
So 2032r/2038r? If so, this is great tractor.

I don't know about that I have 3 dealers within a 75 miles area and my dealer is a big company and they tell me I'm the first to put money down on it. many maybe waiting until they come it to see and test run it
@TractorTimewithTim7 жыл бұрын
I think it will be a fine tractor. It will be much like the 1025R which is a great tractor. It will ride better than the 1025R. It won't turn quite as short, but I doubt that it will be noticeable. As far as others 'not putting their money down', I think the only reason folks might be hesitant is because of the price. You may have negotiated a price similar to a 1025R. If so, you've done great. I think folks are a bit hesitant to pay a lot more money for what they perceive as 'larger tires'. Having said that, I think the 2025R will be a nice upgrade from the 1025R, yet smaller, more nimble, and cheaper than the 2032R. IN other words, don't doubt your decision just because of the delay. However, if you are having second thoughts, consider the bigger or smaller brother.

Improvements,I guess but still far behind the Kubota bx 25d.
@TractorTimewithTim7 жыл бұрын
+Butch s Favorite Hardy well, would not agree there, but the bx23s is pretty impressive. Picked up a LOT of the Deere features and one-upped with the standard single point connector.
@gijoe08196817 жыл бұрын
If you want to upgrade from a 1025R this does not seem to be much of an upgrade with the same powertrain. Engine Power, FEL lift capacity and PTO output.....its just a 1025R with bigger tires and a few improvements...of which most of them appear to be "optional upgrades" . Not alot of bang for the buck.
@tcbridges7 жыл бұрын
Well still waiting for my 2025R to come in and its coming on December already. No one has any answers yet? The John Deere dealer still has no idea when there even starting to ship leaving there dealers with no answers yet. Thats not right was thinking to go up and look at Kabota's now.
@TractorTimewithTim7 жыл бұрын
Be patient. Once you get the tractor, you'll soon forget the wait. You've identified the tractor you want. Don't alter that choice due to short term impatience.
@TractorTimewithTim7 жыл бұрын
My understanding is that Deere is swamped. Selling more of these tractors than they can produce.
@jakeschisler75257 жыл бұрын
Tim, are you going to upgrade?
@davidmays21617 жыл бұрын
Jake Schisler Why would he upgrade? For a few inches of seat height, a step and taller back wheels you would lose your thousands trading a 1025r for a 2025r. Besides, Johnny is part of his family and trading won't help get Tim a grapple.
