1. The US government does much worse and 2. Supporting the mob in any way is supporting the murders of many innocent bystanders. I don’t agree it’s no harm no foul. But no I feel sorry for no one in a gang or the mob that gets picked off, including loan sharks. No one mourns that loss. The government performs ‘legal’ racketeering constantly. Politicians are scumbags and corrupt criminals. I only care about the innocent bystanders that the mob hurt.

My grandfather went to primary school with Jerry and his brothers. Sat in front of Jerry in grades 6, 7 and part of 8 They grew up in the north end together . Years later, my grandfather's nephew got into debt via gambling with the Anguillos. They were, at minimum, going to break his knees. My grandfather (who was an honest grocer ever since dropping out of that school where he sat in front of Jerry in 8th grade ) approached Jerry and asked to sit down. He was able to save his nephews knees, that time. My grandfather always said Jerry was a smart guy and could have made it big no matter what profession he chose .

FBI agent turned crook Paul Rico took the stand in defense of Barron in a 1970 trial for Barron who’d committed murder while in the witness protection program in Santa Rosa, CA, my home town. Little did my folks know the FBI placed a convicted multiple murderer in their midst. They got flack for that and both FBI agents who testified in Barrons defense were already under investigation themselves for numerous mob related crimes. Paul Rico gained further notoriety in 1981 when he had been made an executive at World Jai Alai and was accused of feeding the mob personal info that lead to the gangland murder of Tulsa businessman and World Jai Alai owner Roger Wheeler.
