Appreciate this very straight forward honest review. I'm looking at purchasing an eMTB in the spring and the Turbo Levo is one of those bikes on my list, but the pricing here in Canada is just so high when comparing to other brands. I had been considering saving a few dollars to start by getting the Levo Alloy and doing some upgrades over time with a larger battery, suspension, and brakes. But as you say, the price difference between the Alloy and the Alloy Comp gets you much more bike right out of the gate. Now here in Canada, the price difference between the Alloy and Alloy Comp is $1,500 Canadian. So considering the type of riding I intend to be using the eMTB for, it may not be an ideal option to get the Alloy with upgrades overtime because I'll likely be wanting to get those done earlier than anticipated.

Ive had my base Alloy Levo for 2 years. Love the bike and it's holding up well. Just upgraded the Crankring to 38T and I haven't really changed anything. It handles my super heavy weight well to. I did go through my first rear rim recently.

I have a 22 model levo alloy and being in my mid 50s was a good entry level model as I hadn't ridden a push bike since my teens as I had always had dirt motorbikes. Its great to see if you want to continue riding emtb and later step up to better models of give it away. For me I'm happy just to be out there now with this and not pushing to 11/10ths of risk anymore 😂

Great info I've been deliberating this as there's half price offers on both versions right now. You helped me decide the comp is the way to go!

Wow! where are they listed for half price? That's amazing.

Hey, I'm a complete noob to mtb and just like you in the uk, here in Sweden I got the comp model for just round £3700 beginning 2023 gen3 model. Just waiting for the snow and ice to disappear so I can take it out on a maiden run :) @@sgoaty

You get the comp which is alloy. The other one is sold as comp carbon.

I have the same bike, and the components are too basic. The TCU with the brose motor has problems. The sram brakes terrible.

I have the carbon base model with same components. I love the platform and adjustability. I thought brakes and drivetrain are the weak points for this build.The bright side is that steep long descents will get your forearms jacked like you are on steroids. What a workout!! Shifting is bad despite getting it adjusted by my LBS couple of times. Chain drops from smallest cog to the frame, and heavy pedaling causes skipping of the chain etc. Suspension is not as refined, but it was not holding me back much. Oh, and the rear tire has no place in the enduro world. Slips and slides all over the place.

About to pick up a comp alloy. I’m torn between the s3 and s4 I’m 5’ 8” 1/2 on the specialized page I’m kinda in between also I’m seeing people talk about being in between and they recommend going smaller! I’m in north Mississippi so terrain is probably below average for what the bike could handle thoughts s3 vs s4??

With ebikes, we always sized down if in between sizes. It makes the heavier bike more manageable and the downside is very minimal, if at all.

The price ok, the components are really basic. Brakes terrible, front fork and rear shock only for trails, rear dreaullier SRAM sx and cassette SRAM NX will last no more than 6 months if you ride regularly
@gobolinogobolino89719 ай бұрын
Specialized should not sell ebikes with basic brakes, sram guide. it's dangerous, believe me.
