The travel needs to be more progressive, i had to put ludicrous pressures in my shock to stop it bottoming out. I eventually just upgraded to a more heavy duty shock, but I think the specialized engineering team should try to sort this out.

@@darylblain4710I'd love to hear from more people on this. I just bought a '22 Evo Pro and while I love it, I'm still struggling to get the Float X to feel right, ESPECIALLY coming from a Nomad with a coil shock. How different lol (but way more playful for sure). At 195 lbs I too find myself running super high pressures to prevent bottom out, really sacrificing any sort of supple feeling from the bike. I'm considering either the cascade link or going with a different rear shock and adding spacers. The Rockshox Vivid seems interesting but expensive.

definately looking at this as my next ride. Questions, going mullet without the link... how much slacker does HTA become, how much lower for the BB, and what do we lose on seat tube angle? Also, regarding styling... it almost appears to me that the downtube just in front of the bottom bracket angles forward lower than horizontal, would prefer some up angle in the shape there as tube moves forward from BB and on up to HT
@SpecializedUniversity2 жыл бұрын
Hi! Thanks for your question. I'd not recommend going mullet without the mullet link. If you'd like a lower BB or slacker HT angle, you can use the adjustable geometry!

Don't gravity bikes (especially those with a High Pivot Design) actually need to have a rearward axle path? I get it that it takes away a bit of the playfulness (especially doing wheelies etc.) but it actually feels a lot more stable on the downhill and the benefits outweigh the drawbacks by far. I have a Deviate Highlander and am amazed by the downhill performance and it still is playful enough to not be too bored.
@uwu_demon54944 жыл бұрын
They mentioned it. They said that in the first couple CM of travel the axle path is rearward adn it takes inspiration from their gravity bikes, but later in the travel they made the axlepath forward so it feels more playful. On a gravity bike rearward axle path is king, bikes like the commencal supreme, that have basicly no forward axle path, are just super fast over stuff.

The kinematics are pretty much perfect IMO. Maybe a little to much AS at sag but I get most people can’t pedal. However, the geo adjustments are next level and I would have probably bought two had it not been for the suboptimal Moto rear hose routing. I’m just not prepared to damage the brake hose after a simple bar during a minor crash which commonly happens without the headtube acting as a strain relief. I’m gutted though. Best effort on the market.
