Hi may be one more important note! If your TCD2 jumps to some kind of stealth mode and then shows only a battery and your are not able to get back to the normal display with all information showing then you need to do a very hard reset. After doing a lot of studying I found out how to do that and I hope it will maybe help others with the same problem: Basically, you have to do a Factory Reset. For that I hold down the + and - buttons for 20 seconds. That is how you soft restart the TCD2. BUT, if you Hold down the + and - for 45 seconds, past the soft restart (don't let go), you will get a message stating that you are doing a factory reset, and winner, winner, chicken dinner the bike was back to brand new condition. A couple of notes in this process: After the factory reset, Mission Control does not know you did a factory reset on the bike. So, you have to delete (not deregister) the bike in Mission Control. But, if you try to add it again, it will simply fail. This is because your phone's bluetooth settings thinks it has already paired with the bike. But the bike is like "I don't know you! Stranger Danger!" and drops your connection. So, you have to go into your phone's bluetooth settings, find the bike, it is the serial number, and "Forget the Device" Then you can add the bike back in the app as before. Then Voila, you have a brand new shiny factory fresh bike with no electronic baggage. Anyway, if anybody gets this problem again, here is how you solve it.

Thank you, wonderful system from Specialized. You could also touch on the ability to add a Garmin Varia radar and have the data displayed without a separate display.

Why did you remove the set screw on the back of the display? Mine (2022 Turbo Vado ST) was never put on by the shop that assembled it and as a result from bumping it and removing it from the twist mount, one of the slides on the back bracket broke off. There is no way to repair the TCD without completely replacing the entire TCD (expensive$$). This is a design flaw. If the set screw had remained in place, the TCD would most likely have not broken off from the mounting bracket. I would recommend to owners with this kind of TCD to make sure it is attached to the mounting bracket with the set screw, There is no need to untwist and remove it otherwise.

I know that the Apple Watch can't be paired to specialized bikes for heart rate data and that the chest strap type Ant monitors will pair, but I was wondering whether the Garmin watches can be used for heart rate data. The Garmin watches have ANT so I assume it can be done, but I have not seen anyone talk about it.

My wife has the Como 4 with the same display (2022). She had a lot of engine errors. Unfortunately, the dealer couldn't find anything. Now the warranty is over and the display won't turn on anymore. We removed the battery and looked at all the connectors. The battery is fully charged, as can be seen from the 4 LEDs on the battery. The charger also gives the green light. This morning the display turned gray for a minute and now it is black. Completely dead. Is there a coin battery in here or is there a way to reset the display/computer/motor? (We will never buy a Specialized again. The more electronics, the more things can break. And the paint quality is also terrible)

Hello Court.... I hope that is the way to spell your name, if not please correct me... Will this Color LCD display be on the New 2022 Turbo Como 5.0 SL, IGH Belt Drive.... I have one being built now, finally deciding that this was the E-Bike for me after reading up and sending countless hours making sure that this one in particular WON me over, second place was not the SL version of the COMO.... your reply would be much appreciated and KEEP UP the GREAT work on your videos.... you and they are invaluable!

I really can’t see the point of having it removable from the mount if it is wired in and can’t be taken with you anyway.

I like that it mounts to a fairly standard circular twist that is similar (and possibly cross compatible) with Garmin devices. I could see this being useful for a double arm mount or an accessory bar where you are doing something custom... Just bought a turbo vado igh 3.0. Taking delivery in middle of may. I’ve seen somewhere that the bike is rated at 28mph but I live in Canada and top speed here is 20mph. Is it locked or customized to 20mph from factory and is just one click away from the 28mph setting?

Hi Ollie, I don’t remember exactly, but suspect that I pressed the button above or below the plus and minus. I may have pressed a button on the display itself, below the lcd screen. I just cannot confirm since I don’t still have access to this ebike.

Hi Martha, I have not tested this feature so I cannot say. Perhaps you could ask a specialized dealer. Their software changes over time and gets better, so maybe it could offer that feature eventually if not already!

Good question, I haven't spent as much time with Nyon. The differences seem to be that the Specialized TCD2 is not fully removable (wired in) and has a smaller screen. Both have USB charging, which is nice.

After my second Garmin Edge 520 died unexpectedly I decided to try something different - the Wahoo ELEMNT Bolt instead of the Garmin 530. Boy! I'm glad I did. kzbin.infoUgkxXZCtB-wGdHVTBSz8RswePK5vllHNi06N The display on the Wahoo Bolt is much easier to read. I like the configuration of the display more (up to 7 items visible on page 1 without scrolling and the first item chosen is larger characters than the next 3 rows that have pairs of items (still very readable). I also like the configurable item selections. The Bolt synced with my Garmin ANT+ Speed sensors on both bikes easily so no additional investment was required there. While the rated battery life is a couple hours less than the Garmin 520/530, I easily get a weeks worth of 1+ hour rides before recharging (and it's never really low on charge). At the end of a ride syncing to the Wahoo app, Strava, and Apple Health app is painless.
