Specialized sells much cheaper helmets that are equally safe, just without the aero benefit. A cheap Chinese knockoff will not be safe and won't be all that aero either.

@@jamesambrocio it's not about the Location of production nur about the tests and standarts that are applied. If you understand german or you just want a visualisation of how bad chinese knockoffs are search on yt for enjoyyourbike evade 2. They had a case where a consumer bought a evade and gave a knockoff version back. The producers of those helmets aren't interestet in making a safe product. They just want their products to look as much as the original.

vic tor the sensors were on the cycling mannequin’s head, they put out heat that mimics that of a human, the wind tunnel sends air over the helmet, they then measure the temp at the sensors and thus reach the conclusion that the helmet is aero and cools better than the first gen evade. The sensors are not on the helmet.
