I'm shocked they didn't 'no sale' the filly. Honestly, grade fillies of no particular merit, appearance or otherwise, regularly sell at double + that from platforms like Facebook market place, craigslist, etc.

Just a note while watching Oliver getting hooves trimmed with the grinder, it puts lots of heat out when on his hoof, that's why he's moving away. My fairer told me not to use it on my mare. He said that hurts, just like the power trimmers for dog nails have to find right equipment for the animal. No hate just wanted you to know I didn't either

You introduced me to Foxtrotters. They are gorgeous looking horses, petite and athletic. In the shows, the rapid up-down head movement of the horse, combined with the back and forth head movement,on a craned neck of the rider, is foreign to me. Seems like an acquired taste. I’m sure I would have a headache.

I'm really loving these horse auctions!❤️🐴 (already love "stuff"auctions) thank you for taking us along & continuing to teach - I learn something new on every one of your videos - I'm glad JR put out a word to the wise that it might not be a good idea to get your first horse at an auction setting unless you know what your doing (I'mpositive I'd get myself in trouble there) & like he said you want people that would stand behind their horses - i did see the 1 buckskin with the right front issue when he pointed it out 😪- I wish I could have a horse or a donkey - but I can't live in city & don't know how to take care of them properly even if I could - I know a bit about other smaller animals - so all I can do is rent a horse back ride by the hour ☹️ I'm little under 100 lbs so I'm happy just riding little horse in circles (for kids) (pitiful!) Heck I'm so desperate I'll even ride the kid mechanical fake horse in front of the store (pitiful !) & I've rode rent a horse over my whole lifetime - love riding - well I'll keep watching y'all & keep learning - guess I'm 1 of your virtual trial ride fans - 🙂 -

Just a question Emery, not a criticism. How come you guys didn't ask why the Palomino yearling filly was back for a second year? It seemed as if you had time to ask. Isn't that pretty important? I understand your hesitancy to bid. You would have been thinking "Who knows how high it will go?" I understand bidding is very stressful. And you'd be wondering do they really want her? And I guess JR and Becka decided she wasn't so important, or they probably would have been there. And JR would definately have asked the owner that question earlier. You did right Emery. Lots of love from Canada. ❤

@homesteadhorsemanship Жыл бұрын
Pretty sure Jr touched on that in the video🤔….really it’s not as “obvious” in a mare but you would have to go by their ears, eyes, and movement. Sluggish, dragging etc. it’s not super easy to tell either way though.

Not sure if it is a regional thing, but strictly speaking, in the world of breeding any kind of animal, if Image was the sire, the horse is by Image and out of whatever the name of the mare was. All offspring of Image's would be by him, never out of him.

But they can't just buy horses right and left, and horde them like stuff. And especially when the horse is over the price they had set that they can pay! Plus, they each cost a small fortune to keep. Becka did learn a great lesson here, and she handled herself so well. After all, it was her money. There will be a ton more pretty horses. Letting their heart rule their decisions would be a disaster.
