Why does everyone pronounce it "Peecilotheria" ? I've never read a story or poem by Edgar Allen Pee . Great species ! Wish I had more . Thanks Alex !

Poe isn't a Latin name, Poecilotheria is.

You are correct it's pronounced POE. Look up the pronunciation and have a listen, you are correct

Amazing spider, one of my favourites, but I'm really not sure you could find a pure HL nowadays. Most of them are mixes of highland and lowland, with some of them resembling more of the HL patterns. Check out birdspidersCH's video where he finds pure highland variants in the wild. Completely different. Also I owned a lowland which looked like a perfect mix of the two kinds. Some big European breeders who I asked about this are saying the same, that most of them are mixtures.

I have been really trying to learn my T's, and have to say, this one is not one that I hear of or see in videos alot. It is beautiful, for sure! Maybe the most, next to the P Metallica, or Gooty. That's just my opinion if course! I ALSO love the Regalis. Thanks for vid!!

I have seen many pokies only for sale in the state the vendor is.. I don't understand this. I bought my p. subfusca from a vendor in a state I didn't live. Why does this apply to some sales and not others?

What do you do about the care of your spiders when you go on vacation?

I don’t travel much but when I do I usually don’t go for longer than a week. I make sure my spiders are well fed and feed them when I return. If I have to be gone longer than that my wife or daughter usually feed them for me. Someone always stays behind because of the other pets we have that need frequent feeding. If we all go, we have a friend come babysit.

I'm a bit disappointed that you edit the video a bit. It's so bumped up in the violet that even the surrounding areas like on the cork bark is violet....

I didn’t mess with the saturation. I used 2 Aputure MC lights. I set one for white 6500K and the other on violet. Wasn’t trying to bump up the violet, I just use it for effect on most of my showcase videos. Purple is the color of my logo so I just kind of extend that to my lighting. If you watch Tarantula Collective you’ll find that he does that as well on some of his videos only his signature color is neon green.

@@TarantulaHaven I was thinking about it while continue watching this and I saw it towards the end and thought somewhat the same. However, I do more appreciate a natural white lighting. That being said, I really appreciate your video on this as I'm looking at the same T and some pictures between the highland and lowland got me confused. Some picture made me think "alright, I can clearly see the difference" but other pictures made me go "wait, that looked like it had markings from both highland and lowland". Watching this to see if I should get them, they ARE a beautiful species indeed. To be honest, I think I might prefer the lowland due to the bigger contrast in the white and black but I see the appeal in both. Thank you for your explanation and again, really appreciate the upload and this was not very long ago too so it's a bit coincidental :P
