This video explains that there are five main pranas which govern the different functions of the body, each of which is invoked by a specific hand mudra which creates a particular primal energy at a subtle pranic level. For these practices you must have a deeper sensitivity so that you can feel the different effect of each mudra. The benefit of the practices is that they help to balance the pranic frequency in all different parts of the body, which leads you to the experience of stillness. Only then will you be able to spontaneously redirect your awareness from outside to within.
