I've always admired your care when handling fish. Most people don't realize the slime on a fish is a mechanism to protect them from disease. This is their number 1 defense against infection, disease and injury. It's also very important for electrolyte balance. I wish everyone would practice this method of minimal contact.
@redfishross4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Manuel , very true about the slime. I try not to disturb it.

Since I suffered a TBI and no longer have a boat, I am on a 4 wheeled walker, I am limited to bank fishing, so bank fishing is my cup of tea, it looked like a bridge in the rockport area. I enjoyed your video as usual, thankful for the entertainment.

I'm glad we were able to get one more video from you before the year was up. Thanks. I've had those spoons in my tackle bag for years and never used them. I've used the Johnson sprites instead. I will take your recommendation and give them a try the next time I'm down there. Stay safe. Merry Christmas and Happy holidays to you/family!!!

Ross, thank you for the spoon advice. Ive had them hit on the drop but I now know my mistake is cranking a few turns on my next pop. I went out yesterday and the tide was abnormally low again. I had a hard time. Hit every pot hole, structure and oyster reef but the bite was almost non existent. I threw every lure I had including a 1/2oz seedless spoon. I did end up catching in the middle of natural gut, but 10/1 dinks. What seemed to work was an igret vudu mullet with a slow retrieve. I need to get my boat trailer lights rewired and start fishing other areas. I have a hard time every year in the Laguna Madre when it gets cold. Maybe running all the way to Baffin during colder months may pay off. I am not a fan of the ride out there and back lol

Thanks Bro , I’m not a fan of low tides either.

I've been a subscriber for a long time my friend. I may not comment on videos alot but doesn't meen I don't watch ;) However I do have a question??? First timer boat for bay fishing like you do in your videos. You have any suggestions on a style to buy???
@redfishross4 жыл бұрын
Tuff question , there are so many styles now , I would suggest looking at different ones on you tube to get an idea what would be best for you. I would say a boat like mine but they don’t make it anymore.

I've been fishing the H&H, Johnson Sprite and Nichols Mojo Spoon side by side and seeing which did better. The silver Mojo Spoon caught more fish by far. It has a dressed hook and a a great flutter action. Just passing it along.

Thanks Ross! How deep was the water there and any tide movement. I’m MANLF (Medicare Aged Northern Landlocked Fisherman). With the water temp drop I see the trout sit on the bottom but how deep of water? I’ll be watching so maybe I can get a fix on the fishing.

Spoon vs MirroDine? They seem to have similar purpose to me and you appear to prefer spoons, yet is your confidence equal with both of them
