People need to stop this Bundesliga slander. A couple of things to take into account: 1) Players often take time to adapt when they switch no matter where they're from or where they go, especially if they're younger (and most of the switches to prem rn are like young Bundesliga talents), 2) in terms of the physical thing, the prem is just more physical like some stuff that's normal in the prem is seen as fouls in the Bundesliga, but 3) I do concede that the quality of players overall is worse in the Bundesliga because most clubs have a lot less money than the ones in the prem so the best player's can't be kept.

It’s fair slander but maybe doesn’t apply to haaland. You can have players who get loads of goals in the bundesliga by scoring stupid amounts against absolutely terrible teams. I think erling is different but a lot of them can score against all the lower bundesliga teams every game but wouldn’t score a single goal against a prem team.

Even though Ronaldo got “numbers” this season, he still made United worse. He’s taking up spaces that Bruno would usually be in and is eating up the chances. He’s also a “shoot first” type of player, and when he was playing with Rashford and Greenwood, they’re all tryna shoot and not create (hence Martial was so key over the years, 19/20 Rash+Martial+greenwood scored more than the Liverpool trio). Bruno looks worse cuz he’s not in those spaces no more (+ martials not there to win him penalties) and now Ronaldo requires the team to make specific chances for him - which limits the team. We saw him finish top scorer in serie A last year - Juve finished 4th. Other notes - United depth suffered through the campaign with player injuries, loans and criminal cases.

Now hold on, if he made Bruno's stats go down how does that mean he makes the entire team worse? Especially if he's adding in goals, not just empty ones either, crucial ones. All you've said is that he takes away goal scoring chances from Bruno, how does that mean the entire team is worse? Here are facts, when the team plays to Ronaldo's strengths they win trophies, when a team is built around Bruno what does a team win? There's a reason he isn't used much for Portugal. I don't wanna hear "oh United were 2nd", yes when Chelsea, and Liverpool were in bad situations at the start of the season, Arsenal were figuring their team out, and Tottenham had the dinosaur Mourinho, and they were 12 points behind 1st. Juventus finished 4th last season with him because they had a manger who wasn't even licensed at the beginning of the season and their squad is old and mid. Juventus were outside the top 5 of Italy for most of this season WITHOUT Ronaldo. You said last season they finished 4th, ok, but what about the season before that? They won the league, with Ronaldo as their top scorer. Juve could have been far worse if Ronaldo wasn't their and they were still managed by Pirlo, easily could have finished outside the top 5.

I used the Bruno example as everyone was talking about how much of an impact Bruno was having, since his arrival coincides with United finishing 3rd and 2nd (wasn’t the case since Pogba come back from injury and Martial + Greenwood went crazy to propel us). Bruno has always been a poor 90 min footballer but he got numbers cuz he’s a volume player. Ronaldo is now taking up that volume. 2.) with his arrival as a striker, Martial’s appearances dropped (before his loan + Cavani was another option) hence why he wanted to leave. Martial was key in making United score goals, cuz his individual brilliance and selflessness (along with others) had us scoring, because Ole’s lack of system wasn’t going to do that. 3.) Ronaldo is a shoot-first baller, he’s isn’t going to set up Rashford/Sancho/greenwood/Elanga like a Martial would’ve or do selfless running to drag players out of position like a Cavani, which hampers the team. 4.) his arrival causes a superiority issue, instantly we’re seeing him take over free kicks and share pens with Bruno. Captaincy and leadership issues, him dropping out of Man City match day squad cuz he was angry at not starting etc Man Utd conceding goals is a tactical issue and a personnel issue regarding individuals like Maguire who are horse crap , but attacking wise Ronaldo has made the team worse, it’s a fact. He’s eating while everyone starves. Your Juve point, he was juves top scorer but he was getting out scored by Quagmire and Immobile in those seasons for the golden boot. Juve were already winning league titles before he joined. His arrival cost 100m + wages , they couldn’t even improve the squad. They had to sell Cancelo and do weird balancing book deals like the Arthur - Pjanic deal to get by financially , which set them back footballing wise but helped them brand wise since CR7 is a massive brand. Wasn’t his fault directly cuz it was Juves decision, they thought signing Ronaldo would win the UCL but it’s evident Ramos, Bale and Benz carried him to UCL glory as we’re seeing Benz do his thing this year. Don’t get it twisted, the other attackers haven’t performed but it’s aint a coincidence that since his arrival -> rash has been poor, Bruno has been poor, martial no game time and loaned. (Greenwood is a separate case as we know, Sancho first season and he’s been setting Ronaldo up)
